The aftermath

Help finally came and I was standing there watching everything while being question.

"Ma'am do you know you got hit?" I looked at him confused and down to my left arm that was bleeding.

The officer took me over to a paramedic to look at my arm. "Is there anyone that you want us to call for you?" I told him my dad and looked at my phone to get his number and noticed a text from Edward.

Edward: Went camping with the guys be back in time to pick you from Airport baby. I love you.

I quickly gave them my dad's number. The paramedic said I had nothing to worry about that the bullet only nicked me and he wrapped it up.

I was sitting in the truck starring at the phone when I finally dialed Edward's number to leave him a message. "Ummm, I don't know how to say any of this. I'm still in shock by it all Edward. We we're all shot at my mom's funeral. Phil was rushed to the hospital. I'm okay I guess. I love you."

I hung up and drove to the hospital. At the hospital Phil had surgery and I had already been here for 24 hours and haven't left. I was to scared to and afraid if I left the hospital I loose someone else in my life.

Although I haven't moved from outside Phil hospital room. I don't think it all hit me yet. Then someone sat down beside me and handed me a cup of coffee. When I looked it was my dad. I leaned over on him as he wrapped a arm around my shoulder and kissed the top of my head.

"They told me you haven't said a word since you came and this is where you been sitting ever since. They told me you're in shock. When your ready to leave we can go home baby girl." I slowly got up and walked into Phil's room.

"Bella, come here." He told me. I sat down beside him and he pulled me down into a hug. "You can go home now sweet girl. I'll be alright thanks to you. You go to that Jillards and you show them what you're made of. Always remember I love you like you were my own daughter. Go home now it's where you belong." He kissed the top of my head and I got up and walked out.

But at home in Forks though I sat on the couch not moving. I wasn't originally due back until Sunday night so Edward wasn't due back yet.

From what I could hear is that they been trying to get ahold of the boys and been leaving messages. Carlisle checked on me and changed my bandages. He tried to get me to eat or drink anything.

I slip on drinks but I refused to eat. "What do I do Carlisle? She won't move from the couch, will not even talk all she does is stare."

Carlisle puts a hand gently on my face. "She in shock Charlie. Give her time. She'll snapped out of it when she ready." He tells my dad.

Then early in the morning come Sunday. My guess the middle of the night. There was a loud banging on the door and I knew my dad wasn't at home and I slowly finally got off the couch.

I open the door and Edward was standing there with the look of fear in his face. That's when everything came flooding back and I screamed out. Edward caught me before I could hit the ground.

I wrapped my arms around him as tight as I could and just cried. I felt Edward scoop me up and carry me back to the living room.

Bella finally fell asleep in my arms and I was woken by Charlie gently nudging me. He handed me a cup of coffee. "How the hell you get her to sleep and how you get in here?"

"When we got home this Morning that's when we found out what happen. I came straight here thinking you be home but Bella answered the door and well she broke down right in front of me. This is where we been since." I told him.
