A Crazy Complicated Love

Chapter one

"Happy Birthday to you" My Family sung to me as I stared down at the cake, 18. I blew out the candles, wishing for something great and amazing to happen. I don't know what but something that's never happened before would be nice.

"What did you wish for Mia?" My 7 year old sister Maddi asked me.

"Now that would be telling and my wish wouldn't come true" I say leaning down and giving her a hug.

"So what's your plans for tonight? Are you doing anything special with your friends?" My mum asks me.

"I think Allie is taking me to the new club she's working at, she said I might be able to work there too" I say.

"Well that's great sweetie" my mum asks.

"Yeah" I say.

"So when are you girls moving into the new apartment?" My dad asks me.

"This weekend, I've just got some stuff I still need to pack up and then I'll be moving in, Allie's already moved her stuff in." I answer.

"My baby girls all grown up and moving into the City, I can't believe it" My mum says pulling me into a hug.

"mum, you'll still see me, I'm only 30 minutes away" I say.

"I know but I'll miss you, we'll all miss you, even your brother" she says and we all look at my 14 year old brother Matt who's eating his bit of cake.

"Maybe a little" he says.

We all continue to eat our cake before I get a text from Allie saying she'll be here with the girls in an hour.

I excuse myself from the table and head upstairs to my room to change.

I look around my bedroom and think about all the memories I've had here, this is my bedroom for a couple more nights. 18 years this room has been my place of escape, my safe place. I then stop thinking about it and finish getting ready.

I look in the mirror at myself, I look hot, My little black dress doing me justice, my long brown hair down in loose waves. I grab my heels and put them on, instantly taller. I'm only 5"4 without them.

I tweak my makeup, making more of a smokey eye then grab my phone and wallet and head down stairs, grabbing my winter coat and putting it on.

"you look stunning honey, have a good time" My mum says from the living room.

My family all say goodbye to me as I step outside to see my group of friends, well as we say squad waiting next to a party bus.

"woo! Happy Birthday girl" My friend Hayley yells.

"You are smoking hot" Hannah says as all my friends pull me in for a group hug, singing happy birthday.

Allie then comes over to me with a sachel saying birthday girl on it and a birthday girl tiara.

My friends are all wearing ones that say with the birthday girl.

I'm the last one out of us to turn 18 so they all wanted to do something special.

Over all theres about 12 of us all celebrating.

"Tonight we party, we get crazy drunk and we find our queen birthday girl here one fine man to give her an extra special night she won't forget" Cassie says as we're all sitting on the bus.

"oh my god girls" I say laughing.

"oh we have presents for you too" Lily says standing up.

"so we all got together and well we know how much you want to be a musician and you would totally rock it up on stage so we got you a weeks worth of recording studio time so you can record those hits" Lily says hugging me.
