♡ You Feel Like Home to Me ♡ Luke Hemmings Fanfic

Chapter 3

My cousin and I had finally arrived at the mall. We decided to sit at a table in the food court and wait for Luke to show up. I was so excited to see him! I couldn't believe it had already been a week since I first met him!

"So do you like this guy?" Jessica asked me curiously.

"Well I don't know him THAT well yet, but he seems pretty nice.." I say trying to avoid the question.

I felt like I was starting to like Luke. I found myself thinking about him all the time and he made me feel like no other guy has..but I didn't want to admit it to myself, or anyone else for that matter. When ever I developed feelings for a guy, I just ended up getting my hurt. This was a random guy I met at an airport. I shouldn't be liking him like this. I had no idea who he really was on the inside.

Me and Jessica were just talking and drinking some smoothies we had picked up while we were waiting when I got a text from Luke.

Luke: Hey I just got to the mall, sorry it took me awhile. Where are you at?

Me: Hey Luke. Its fine, we're just sitting at a table in the food court.

Luke: Ok I'll be there in a few. Oh and btw I brought my bandmate Calum along, I hope you don't mind..

Me: No thats fine! Can't wait to meet him :)

I wait anxiously at the table with Jessica. What was Luke's bandmate going to be like? Hopefully he's as nice as Luke. At least now it won't be like Jessica is a third wheel or something, but this IS NOT a date...right? These thoughts were swirling around in my head when I suddenly hear that gorgeous Aussie voice from behind.

"Hey Nicole."

I turn around to see Luke standing there with his friend.

"Hey!" You say smiling.

Luke smiled at me and then realized that he should probably introduce us.

"This is my bandmate and friend, Calum. He plays bass in our band."

"Hi Calum!" I say.

"Hi Nicole. I've heard a lot about you!" Calum says smirking. I notice Luke blushing. Calum was almost about as tall as Luke and had dark brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a muscle tank and a snapback. He was pretty good-looking too.

*cough cough* Jessica gestures to get my attention.

"OH! Sorry, guys this is my cousin Jessica! I'm staying with her while I'm here in Florida!"

"Hey Jessica!" Luke and Calum say together in unison.

They sit down at the table with us and we just chat for a little while.

"So do you guys wanna walk around the mall or something?" Luke suggests.

We walk around the mall, going into some stores that we come across. We find an arcade and decide to go in and play some games.

Luke and Calum start to play the Dance Dance Revolution type game and me and Jessica watch them, laughing at how silly they look. They are just goofing around spinning and hopping on the arrows...and Calum would occasionally hip thrust. I noticed Jessica watching Luke and giggling.

"Ok Nicole, your turn!" Luke says smiling at me.

I jump up on the small dance floor next to Luke and start to step on the arrows, laughing at how bad I must look.

"I'm horrible at this!" I say embarrassed. I look over at Luke who is just spinning around and trying to look cool. I giggle at him and he stops and smiles at me.

"What?" He asks me smiling.

"You look almost as ridiculous as I do." I say laughing.

I look up to see Jessica standing to the side with her arms folded across her chest. She looks bored or upset or SOMETHING and my smile instantly goes away.

"Hey Luke, maybe we should let Calum and Jessica play." I suggest hoping that will make her feel better.

They start to play together and Luke and I stand by talking.

"So have you been enjoying your time in Florida so far?" Luke asks me, trying to start a conversation.

"Yeah, I've been having a good time. I haven't seen Jessica in forever. I'm going to be visiting with grandma and some more of my family while I'm here too. It'll be good to see them all again."

"Awe that's nice to hear!" Luke says smiling at me.

"How about you? Have you been really busy with your band?"

"Yeah a little bit. We've been rehearsing for the concert coming up.. You're coming right?" Luke asks me with a puppy dog face that I can't resist.

"I really want to. Hopefully I will be able to. What day is it exactly?"

"Its in two days..." Luke says his voice getting softer.

"Oh wow, okay! I will try my best to make it!" I say trying to make him feel better.

Luke looks at me and smiles. Did he just use the guilt trip on me?

Luke, Calum, Jessica, and I are walking out to the parking lot. We had been at the mall almost all day and now the sun was going down. I had such a fun time with Luke. This had went a lot better than I thought, it wasn't awkward at all like I was thinking it would. Except that Jessica was acting kinda weird..

I was talking to Luke and Calum before we had to say goodbye and head our separate ways, when Jessica nudged me.

"I'm gunna head to the car now. Bye guys." She waved to Luke and Calum and started to walk off.

"Um...okay I'll meet you at the car Jess!" I yelled back to her, kind of caught off guard by her attitude.

"Sorry guys I don't know what's up with her." I say turning back to Luke and Calum.

"It's fine." Calum says. "I'll let you two say your goodbyes, it was nice meeting you Nicole." Calum says winking as he turns and heads off towards their car.

Me and Luke stand there awkwardly for a minute.

"Well I had a fun time with you today Nicole." Luke says.

"I know me too. I almost don't want to say goodbye.." I say, making Luke smile.

"Promise me I'll see you again, at our concert?"

"Okay, I promise Luke." I say. I could tell he really wanted me to go and now I did too, I wanted to be able to see him again and I really wanted to see him perform.

"Yay! Thank you!" Luke says grinning at me. He opens his arms up and motions for me to step towards him.

Me and Luke hug goodbye. My head rested on his chest. Luke was so much taller than I was. He was nice and warm and he rubbed my back as he hugged me. He also smelled wonderful. He gave the best hugs.

"Bye Nicole. I'll see you in a couple days. Text me later okay." He says smiling. He waved goodbye and starts to walk away.

I start heading to the car realizing that Jessica is waiting for me. Luke was so sweet and I think he just made me start liking him even more. But what I'm most concerned about is Jessica. Why was she acting so weird? Its almost like she's jealous of my friendship with Luke or something, but no that can't be it...
