Chapter 14

Nicole's P.O.V

Its the next morning. I wake up around 10:30 and notice my phone next to my pillow.

"Oh my god, I fell asleep on Luke last night!" I say, laughing at myself.

I check my phone to see a text from Luke. He texted me around 9:00.

Good morning sleepyhead! :-)

I smiled at his message and replied:

Lol hey Luke :) sorry I fell asleep on you last night!

I tossed my phone back on my bed and followed the smell of bacon downstairs for breakfast.

Yesterday when my parents met me at the airport they were so happy to see me. It felt good to be home and sleep in my own bed, but I missed Luke at the same time...and I still haven't told my parents about him. I've never really been good at talking to my parents about my personal life, especially when it came to guys. I mostly just kept it to myself.

"Good morning honey" my mom said to me as I entered the kitchen.

"Morning mom. Breakfast smells good." I said rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

"You've missed my cooking haven't you." She said teasing me.

"Yeah I have actually!" I said smiling.

"Hey Nicole can you get your brother a cup of milk too?" My mom asked me as she finished preparing scrambled eggs.

My brother was born with CP. Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders that can involve brain and nervous system functions, such as movement, learning, hearing, seeing, and thinking. This was something that affected not only my brother but my whole family. My brother needed help with everyday tasks that we tend to take for granted. Even though Mike was my older brother, I played a big sister role because I had to help a lot with taking care of him.

My whole family was sitting at the table now just eating and talking.

"So Nicole, how was your first time traveling by yourself?" My dad asked me.

"It was very interesting to say the least..." So much had happened over the couple weeks I was gone, I really didn't know where to start.

"How are you feeling? After the accident and all.." My mom asked, that night flashing back into my mind.

"I'm feeling a lot better. Its still hard to believe that happened.."

"Well I'm glad to hear that you're doing better hun, we were so worried about you!"

"Yeah, you're mother freaked out when we got the call from your aunt and uncle asking for all your insurance information." My dad added.

"I'm just thankful you're okay! ....Sooo did you meet any cute guys while you were out there in Florida?" My mom asked winking at me.

I suddenly stopped. I wasn't expecting her to ask me this. Did my aunt and uncle say something about Luke?

I blushed at the question and my mom and dad just stared at me.

"Ooohhh she did!" My mom said getting all excited. "Tell us about him!"

"Umm...well I met him on the flight to Florida. And don't worry, he's not some old creeper that I met traveling. He's my age. His name is Luke and he's in a band called 5 Seconds of Summer."

"Oh wow, is his band good?" My dad asked sounding interested.

"Yeah, they're all really good. They were in Miami for a concert and he invited me and Jess. It was amazing."
