A/N First off, thank you all for reading. I hope you're all enjoying it. I just wanted to say, I posted the first chapter of my new story "The Friend Zone". Please check it out and let me know what y'all think! I won't be updating it much because I'm gonna try to work on this book. But once I finish this one, I'll hopefully be able to work on that one.

Emma's POV

I let out a frustrated groan as I flopped down face first onto my bed. I was getting ready to have dinner with Kade's parents, when I realized I had nothing to wear. Or rather, I had no clue what to wear. What does one wear to meet their boyfriend's family?

Rae was across the hall getting John ready, while I dug through my entire closest. Jeans? Khakis? Black pants? A skirt? A dress? I had no clue what to wear. I wanted to look nice, not too casual, but not too dressy either. I wanted to make a good impression.

His parents knew me as the girl that Jace use to hang out with. They knew me as the girl who had a baby at 19. And while, I was that girl, I was more than just those few things. I wanted them to think I was worthy enough to date their son.

"You still aren't dressed?" Rae stepped into my room, closing the door behind her.

"I think I need to call Kade and cancel." I didn't bother picking myself up off the bed. I was only in my bra and underwear, since I had been trying on so many different outfits.

"Too late, he's already here. He's sitting in the living room with John."

I let out another groan, "Rae, I have nothing to wear."

"You have plenty to wear," Rae glanced around my room. It looked like my dresser and closest had exploded. Every article of clothing I owned was either on my floor or on my bed.

"I can't go."

"You're being ridiculous. You are almost twenty two years old, stop acting like a little kid, get up, and get dressed." My best friend commanded me. I frowned at her as she began to dig around through the piles of clothes.

She tossed a dress at me, "Wear that, see, problem solved."

I examined the dress, then threw it back at her, "I wore that to Jace's viewing, I can't wear it to dinner. Ade you crazy?"

"Oh... Well my bad, I didn't go to the viewing. How was I supposed to know." She hissed as she once again began her search for an outfit. She pulled out another dress and tossed it to me.

It was a light blue dress that went down to my knees. It had small white flowers all over it, with long sleeves that flared out at the end. I examined it, trying to find something wrong with it, but I figured it was my best option. It would be appropriate for the occasion, not too dressy but not too casual either. So I pulled it on and turned to see what Rae thought.

"See, that looks great." She assured me.

"Are you sure?" I asked uncertainly as I spun around in front of the mirror, trying to make sure I looked okay.

Rae rolled her eyes, "You're going to be late. Go, now!"

I let out an exasperated sigh, "Fine."

I walked out into the living room, where Kade was waiting. He had John up on the couch with him, reading a book. My heart melted at the sight. My son adored that man and I must admit, I did too. Finding love hadn't been really high on my list of things to do, but I was falling fast for the green eyed boy before me. How could I not?

Eddie and Melissa McCauley stepped outside their front door as soon as Kade put his truck into park. I climbed out of the truck and was enveloped in a hug by Mrs. Melissa. To say I was shocked would be an understatement, but nevertheless I hugged her back as she told me that she was glad that I could make it. I smiled at her.
