Late in the night, Ganondorf called us all together.

"We have few warriors left..." He started, his voice low, "Though the Goron people seemed to have stopped guarding the village, leaving an opening for us. Though I expect for them to be replaced by Zora warriors."

"We can very easily and quickly polish off the Zoras!" One Gerudo called out, Ganondorf waved his hand, signaling for her to be quiet. "No." He simply responded, he then looked at me with his seeming soulless eyes. "You, along with those of your choice will sneak into the village, and set fire to it. I have a hunch that most of the people from the village have already fled. So you and those you bring along with you will destroy all that remains of the village, leave nobody alive."
He then stood up, he towered over all of us, casting a giant shadow. "I command you to depart at once, and get this finished...Tonight."

With that, he picked up a large pail of water, and splashed it onto the fire, completely extinguishing it. "Go, and do as I have commanded you." With those final words, he turned around, and went into his tent, not saying a single word.

I instantly stood up, "Zarue." I called her name. "Meekal."
"Deenah. Rosa. Ahasra. You five shall come along with me, bring your torches, and something to light it." I ordered them, I felt like a leader. I felt honoured due to the fact that he appointed me to do such a mission.

I shall do this with great prejudice...I will have my revenge upon the Hylians for putting our people in great turmoil. Never again will we have to live through poverty; never again will we die by the harsh and cruel winds.

The Gerudos I have chosen to come along with me gathered their things, "We're ready when you are." Ahasra said, standing by me. I nodded in response as we took off towards the village, hiding among the shadows, praying silently to the sand goddess.

O goddesses of the sands... Please have mercy upon us, as we traverse through this hostile land, as we embark on a dangerous mission. And if we do get caught, may we forever serve our great King; Ganondorf.

We ran like assassins through the plains, each step as agile as that of a feline. We hid among the trees, checking to make sure that it was safe to advance.

Closer and closer we came to our destination. We chose not to take our horses, knowing that it would indeed take us much longer if we were going to go on foot. We chose as to not take the chances of attracting too much attention, as the hoof beats of an equine was much too loud.

We managed to arrive at our destination within two hours, I could hear the soft panting of those following behind me, yet they were still ready and able to carry out their mission.

"Ahasra, you take the west end." I commanded, and immediately she sprinted away. "Meekal, you take the east end, and Rosa, you stay in the centre." I then turned to Zarue, "Zarue, you and I have been working alongside since this mission began, so I entrust you with coming along with me to the north end. There, we will set fire so they can't escape to the mountains." Zarue nodded immediately at my command whilst the others had already ran off to their assigned posts.

We hid among the buildings and crates, slowly making our way towards the north end. The village seemed empty. Had the King already evacuated his people out of there? Why are there guards everywhere then?

After careful hiding, we finally arrived at the northern end of the village, a guard was keeping watch by the gate leading to Death Mountain. I looked over to Zarue, who knew immediately what I wanted her to do, and without hesitation, she dashed over to where the guard was posted.

"Hey wha-" I heard the guard say as he was immediately cut down. Zarue was never one for sneaky attacks, she preferred to take them head on, and so she did.

The coast was clear, we were ready to carry out our directive. I lit my torch using a match, and handed one of them to Zarue. "Go, climb on the roof of that nearby hovel, signal the others to light this village ablaze." I told her while I lit a torch for myself.

Once I turned around to face her again, she was gone, and already on the roof, waving her torch. We had to act quickly, as this would likely bring attention, so we had to flee quickly.

I immediately started lighting the place on fire, running my torch through anything that was before me. The heat emanating from the torch was intense. Not before long, the northern end was completely set ablaze.

"Zarue! Come!" I ordered, starting to flee the scene, she following close behind me. The guards were already all over the place, I looked behind me for a brief moment, they were already on our tail!

"Zarue! Behind you!" I called out to her, for a spear was already speeding right towards her! Zarue got down and rolled to the side as a first response. Without wasting a moment, she got back on her feet, grabbed the spear that was in the ground, and continued running with me.

We dashed down each stairway, there were too many stairways in this blasted village! Without watching where I was going, I slipped and fell, tumbling down the steps, Zarue caught up to me, and helped me up.

"You okay?" She asked real quickly as she tried standing me up, "Yes. Keep running!" we had finally reached the entrance to the village, only to see that a nasty surprise awaited us.

And there before us was Ahasra and Meekal, bound by the guards. Rosa lay on the ground, dead.

The soldiers that were chasing us caught up with us, and grabbed us from behind. They were yelling at us, I didn't know what they were saying, I wasn't listening, I didn't want to. I felt like I had gone deaf, my eyes were focused on the lifeless body of one of my people.

Oh my dear Rosa...Oh Rosa...
My vision went blurry, and faded to the blackness.

My name was being called, it was Zarue! Everything sounded warbled. I did not answer her calls.
I just...Felt too tired. This wasn't happening. I felt myself sinking to the ground.

I had fainted.

Later, when I came to. I slowly opened one eye after the other, I blinked, trying to adjust to the light. What happened to me?
"Wha...What happened?" I managed to ask as I felt a searing pain in my forehead there was this nasty knot right in the middle of it.

Zarue didn't look happy, she stared at me as she lacked the words to speak.
"Zarue...Where are we?" I asked her with urgency, she still said nothing.

"Zarue! Speak to me!" I screamed, reaching out to grab her by the neck.

"Stop!" Ahasra called out to me, pulling me off of her, "Stop it...She was trying to fight back in order to free us..." She then pointed to her neck.

Zarue, seemingly full of shame lifted her head up, revealing her sliced open neck. "She cannot speak..." Ahasra murmured, her face expressionless.

I looked around the place, we seemed to be in a moving wagon...It was then that I realised something. "Wh- where is Rosa!?" I exclaimed in a panic.

Meekal was sitting next to me, she placed her hand on my shoulder. "Rosa...She is dead. Did you not see?"

I remembered, I remember seeing her still body on the grass floor. It couldn't be! Surely I was dreaming!

"What happened to her?" I was almost afraid to ask such a question; I felt my voice starting to break.
No. No, I cannot cry. I will not cry. I kept telling myself.

"She was dead when we got there...We don't know..." Meekal replied with a sigh, her face downcast.

'We'?

"What do you mean 'we'?"

"Ahasra and I were brought to the entrance at the same time, and when we got there, Rosa was already dead, one of the guards had already destroyed her."

What? What happened?
