"I think I would have preferred my noodles." I added jokingly as Lauren and I ate. Lauren took us to an Italian restaurant down town, it was extremely classy and for some strange reason it was making me uneasy.

"You're joking right?" Lauren stared at me seriously. "Now this is food, those noodles are crap."

"Hmm that's debatable." I laughed nervously.

"But seriously, do you like the food? I mean I could order you something different if you'd like?" Lauren offered but I firmly shook my head and reassured her I was completely joking. In fact, I've never tasted such good cuisine in my life.

"No of course not. The food is gorgeous Lauren, thank you." The Raven-haired girl beamed then continued to eagerly dig at her food.

After a while of brief conversation whilst finishing our meals, I struck up an intriguing topic.

"So," I cleared my throat, catching her attention. "Aren't you at college?"

"Me? No no that's not really my 'scene' if you understand me." She almost immediately replied.

"That's strange because with all the art in your house I would've thought that you studied it."

"I appreciate art in many different forms." She returned, lowering her tone, leaving me feeling slightly anxious.

"Like what?" I asked, whilst internally gulping, something in me really not wanting to hear the answer for a reason which was not yet known to me.

"Like people," she replied and I was now confused once again, she noted my confusion and began to explain in more depth. "Their bodies, their structure, and just something about the way they work. For example, the way everything changes when they crave something, it's extremely exciting don't you think?"

"I guess so, but I think we have completely varied ideas on the concept of art." I spoke and noticed a smirk creep onto her lips that quite frankly shook me to my core.

"Art is whatever an individual believes it is."

"You're extremely smart, may I add." I spoke after a moment of silence passed. It was the only words I could form, and it was starting to worry me about how anxious I was becoming.

"Well thank you, not to brag but I've always been ahead of the kids in my class." Lauren spoke, and despite the fact she insisted she wasn't bragging, the Raven-haired girl was extremely bragging.

"I see." I nodded in agreement.

"You're pretty smart too, not like some other girls your age that I've met."

"My age?" I questioned, I thought this girl was my age but now I was not so sure.

"Yes, your age." Lauren confirmed.

"I thought you were my age?"

"I'm 23." Lauren replied, chuckling slightly but still holding a firm gaze.

"Oh, I'm sorry." I said, feeling embarrassed that I had mistaken this girl to be 4 years younger.

"Don't worry about it," Lauren reassured but my cheeks were still flushed. "Come on let's get out of here, I'll drive you home."

Lauren opened her purse and placed the money for the bill plus a generous tip for the waiter on the table, despite me arguing with her about paying.

"We're here." Lauren said finally whilst arriving outside my apartment.

"Thank you Lauren." I replied and gave her a smile, but before I could leave a weird feeling came over me. It was a feeling of not wanting to go home by myself, of loneliness almost. "Did you want to come up with me?" I suggested and her eyebrow tilted.

"What are you suggesting here?" Lauren laughed.

"Innocent!" I shot back immediately. "It's innocent, I just don't want to be alone."

"Okay, if you insist." Lauren replied sincerely.
