Authors POV
"Ooh I want a brownie," Camila licked her lips, hungrily, whilst looking at the menu. "Oh my...wait no, I want a burger. Can I get a burger?" Camila asked Lauren, who had been busy observing the small cafe that was oddly deserted.
"Oh yeah sure. Order what you want. We have a long journey to go, so stock up I guess." Lauren snapped out of her careful observant state to answer to Camila. When she got back into focus, Lauren had never in her life seen something so precious. Camila's face had completely lit up at the mention of food and Lauren was in complete awe of the brunette's chocolate orbs piercing into her own emerald ones.
"In that case..." Alec dragged out, completely ending Lauren's state of adoration. "I'll have a number 5, number 7 and a number 18. With fries."
"Guess again if you think I'm paying for yours, you fat fuck." Lauren scoffed and Alex feigned hurt from Lauren's words.
"Lauren, that isn't any way to talk to your friend. Is it now?" Alec sarcastically pouted, in an attempt to 'butter Lauren up'.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Well that offer was for camila. You have money, you can pay." Lauren stated, defending her dignity and her wallet. She'd rather be thrown into a pit of crocodiles, with her eyes gouged out, than buy Alec that much food.
"Camila has money. That's kinda the reason we're here. Remember?" A horrible hint of maliciousness rung throughout what Alec had said.
Camila looked up from the menu, saddened and embarrassed.
"Alec, shut the fuck up." Lauren spat out through gritted teeth.
"No, why should I? Are we just going to ignore the fact that the reason we've travelled all this way is to fucking save this little princess?" Camila's eyes welled up with tears, which was evident to everyone sat at the booth. But, it only fuelled Alec's rant. "And now everyone's mute. Okay, I see how it is. Lauren, we should have just left her to fend for herself. She's a big girl now, aren't you camz?" Camila awkwardly gazed at Lauren and then back to her fidgeting hands.
"I need to go outside for a minute, please excuse me." Camila's voice cracked slightly, then without another word she eagerly left the booth and made her way through the glass doors.
"Did I say something?" Alec sarcastically laughed, "or is she just sensitive?"
Lauren stared at Alec the hardest that she'd ever stared at anyone in her life.
"I will fucking kill you," Lauren spat. "You're nothing but a pathetic little shit, that tears others down because you can't handle drowning in your own insecurities." Lauren shouted freely, whilst firmly jabbing her index finger into Alec's chest. "I would leave you here in the middle of nowhere if I could, but you're a fucking snitch. You'd tell the boss in an instant if I were to leave you here to "fend for yourself", wouldn't you?" Lauren hadn't taken her eyes off of Alec since she started ranting and only just realised the huge breath she'd been holding in. She released the breath and wiped away the beads of sweat trickling down her face with her backhand. "Now I'm going to check on Camila. And I really need a fucking smoke."
Lauren left the cafe and immediately paced towards a local bench, conveniently placed outside the cafe. Lauren noticed that Camila was also sat at the other end of the bench, with her head down. The raven-haired girl cautiously took a seat next to the slightly smaller girl, who was evidently trying to stop her sniffling.
"Don't listen to him, Camila. He's the biggest dick there is. All he wants is a reaction, I promise he'll apologise when he realises-"
"How many people have you killed?" The question escaped her lips so easily, like she'd been contemplating the question for a while. A brief silence fell over the pair.
"What?" Lauren said breaking the silence. She heard Camila very clearly, but she didn't want to believe that that's all Camila thought of her. As a cold dead murderer.
"You heard me Lauren," Camila said sternly. "So c'mon tell me, how many was it? Impress me." The brunette said with a sarcastic tone followed by a non-humorous laugh.
"I'm not what you think I am, Camila." Camila lifted her head, slightly, so that the moonlight highlighted her tear streaks that ran down her face.
"And what's that?"
"A cold killer. A cold killer with nothing but murder on my mind." Lauren stared at Camila, but the brunette quickly shot her gaze away.
"Then what are you?" Camila asked, clenching her jaw tightly, her gaze set on the floor. It was obvious Camila was dreading the answer, she didn't want to know what Lauren was. Camila had built up a beautiful mysterious fantasy on who Lauren was. Camila was terrified about finding out Lauren's true identity.
"A human being. Just like you. That has made many mistakes in her like. Just like you. That wants a new start. Just like you," Lauren spoke slowly. Yet another silence fell on the pair. "Can you accept that?" Lauren asked, breaking the silence again.
Camila lightly smiled and slightly nodded her head.
"So what do you say, Camz?" Lauren asked in a more uplifting tone.
"About what?" Camila was left dumbfounded by the question.
"About a fresh start...with me." Lauren suggested and Camila's heart felt as if it was going to explode with swarms of butterflies.
"You and me?" Camila asked, not being able to contain the gaping smile appearing across her face.
"Me and you." Lauren confirmed, also smiling too. The raven-haired girl was convinced camila's smile was highly contagious.
"I'd love that!"
"I'm glad. I really am Camila." Both girls locked eyes and their smiles started to fade. In that moment right there, the moonlight made just their eyes visible to one another. Camila was completely mesmerised by the emerald orbs gleaming into her soul. Her whole body felt on fire. Lauren unconsciously leaned her face closer to Camila's until she was just centimetres away from her lips.
"What does it mean?" Camila spoke softly, her eyes now flickering between the dazzling green orbs in front of her and Lauren's plump lips, that were close but not close enough to her own.
"What does what mean?" Lauren whispered, which sent shivers down Camila's spine.
"Starting fresh again with you. What does that mean?" Camila had now adopted Lauren's tone of voice.
"It can mean whatever you want it to."
"What does it mean to you?" Camila asked. Lauren tilted her head slightly and thought to herself.
"That wherever I go, whatever I do, as long as I'm with you, I'll know I'm loved. And that's all I need." Lauren spoke and before Camila could react, Lauren delicately connected their lips together.
It was chaste, but sweet, unlike last time. Camila held on tightly to Lauren's lips, wanting to savour this moment for as long as possible. All of Camila's previous worries vanished within the first moment Lauren placed her lips onto her own. Camila was at peace and felt as if there was nothing or nobody that could take that away from her.

A/N: sorry I didn't want to add an A/N in the story but I didn't want to dedicate a whole chapter to just one thing that I wanted to say. I just wanted to say that from now on I'll be writing the chapters in 'authors perspective', since it's more convenient for myself. I'm sorry if this has caused any problems. Thank you for reading.
