"Where are we?" I dragged out, evidently getting more and more frustrated about the never-ending journey we were on.

"Does she ever shut the fuck up?" Alec spat out.

"Do you?" Lauren averted her gaze from the road to Alec and narrowed her eyebrows. The action caused Alec to shoot his eyes into any other direction except Lauren's. "That's what I thought." Lauren laughed bitterly once Alec's eyes had settled on gazing out of the window.

It was pitch black now and we had been driving for several hours.

"And to answer your question Camila," Lauren spoke again, which caught my attention. "I'm not entirely sure but we won't be stopping anytime soon. I'm sorry to disappoint." I audibly let out a long gasp of air that I had been holding in since Lauren called my name.

Now I had three questions on my mind: when were we going to reach out destination? Why do I act like I do around Lauren? And, when are we going to eat. With these questions pondering on my mind and the hours of driving we had left I knew this would be a very long night.

A further 2 hours passed by excruciatingly slow for Camila. She was hungry, cold and tired, not forgetting confused...very confused.

The roads and the signs now looked painfully similar and she convinced herself that they were just driving in circles.

"I could've sworn that we passed this." Camila signalled towards a 'stop' sign.

"Probably Camila because last time I checked there's stop signs everywhere, dumbass." Alec scoffed and Lauren chuckled very lightly but not lightly enough for Camila to ignore it.

"Hey! Why are you laughing Lauren? You're the one driving us around in this fucking wasteland. Do you even have a fucking clue where you're going?" Camila had changed her tone and stood her ground.

"Calm down, Camz. I'm laughing because you're right. We have been here before. I remember that bench and look there's my cigarette." Lauren laughed a little harder but Camila or Alec did not see the humour in this situation.

They were just driving around in circles. What was so funny about that?

"I don't see why you find this funny Lauren. I am going to die of starvation in a minute." Camila winced causing Lauren to think briefly and then dive into her pocket.

"Aha!" Said Lauren when she had found her desired prize. "Here have a granola bar." Lauren tossed it at Camila and Camila caught it in a heartbeat.

"Finally," Camila mumbled to herself then indulged herself into the goodness before her eyes. "If there is a lord up there, I thank you." Lauren smiled and Alec rolled his eyes at the young girls eagerness.

"We could play a game, how about eye spy?" Camila thought out loud.

"How about no?" Alec rudely replied.

"Seriously dude, what is your problem? I love eye spy! I used to play it sometimes with my parents on the very few road trips we had." Camila sunk into her seat slightly at the mention of her parents. And then it all came back to her. The reason she was even in this car in the first place was so she could be saved. She needed to know that code. But why didn't she know? Was it her birthday? No, they would've already tried it. She was completely torn and the feeling proceeded to get worse.

"Are you okay back there?" Lauren asked and Camila gave her a reassuring nod.

Camila decided to close her eyes and try to come to a conclusion and a code. She needed to do this. For her parents and her conscience. She couldn't have the thought of being the one responsible for the murder of her parents. How would she sleep at night?

As she started to lazily fall into a sleep of thought, Alec's rather loud screaming made her more alert than ever.

"What?! What?!" Lauren and Camila both shouted in unison. Camila was completely startled but then started to freak out as well when she saw what caused Alec's reaction.

"Oh my gosh! A café!" Camila shouted louder than Alec causing Lauren to swerve slightly off of the road.

"Will you two stop? You are giving me a heart attack." Lauren steadied herself back onto the road, playing full attention to the road in front of her.

"Please can we go?! Please Lauren I'm so hungry." Alec pleaded and for the first time, Camila thought, actually sounded like a decent human. Lauren rolled her eyes...she needed more convincing.

"We can fill up on gas. Look we're nearly empty, Lauren." Camila suggested.

"Camila, it says full because we stopped and filled it up, remember?" Lauren laughed at the younger girls blonde moment.

"Oh please Lauren. Please." Alec pleaded again.

"Okay, okay!" Lauren shot her hands up in defence and pulled into the car park. "Seriously who would've thought there would be a café in the middle of nowhere?"
