When the pair pulled away, Camila let out a long breath of air that she wasn't aware she'd been holding on to. Camila lightly pushed her forehead to lean against Lauren's.

"So are you going to say it?" Camila breathed.

"What do you want me to say?" Lauren asked, smirking innocently. Lauren knew what Camila wanted to hear but she liked to joke around with the younger girl.

"That you want me to be your girlfriend." Camila blushed ferociously, but Lauren couldn't help but beam a huge smile at the action.

"Do I?" Lauren teased more.

"Lauren, please. Be serious."

"Okay, okay. Camila, would you like to become my girlfriend?" Lauren asked, noticing the way Camila's face completely lit up.

"Yes, Lauren. I would love to be your girlfriend." Camila replied shyly but couldn't contain her gleaming smile from appearing.

Comfortable silence fell over the girls as their bodies were still entwined with one another.

"You do realise that this won't be easy, right? The opposite, in fact." Lauren said breaking the silence. Both of the girls could feel the tension in what Lauren said.

"I'm well aware of that," Camila assured slowly after a few moments of silence. "But I'm willing to risk it if you are. I don't want to do this alone if I'm honest. I'm scared, Lauren. I've never been in this situation before, obviously." The younger girl carried on explaining, "I want someone to be there with me, to protect me in a sense. To shield me from what else the world may throw at me in the future. I want you to be the person I can count on. Now I know you've done some things that are hard for me to process, extremely hard in fact." Lauren dropped her eye contact and shifted uncomfortably at the mention of what her original plan for Camila was. "But Lauren, it doesn't matter anymore. Because right here, right now I just want to be with you. Only you and no one can change that."

A tear ran down Lauren's warm cheek, Camila wiped it away with the pad of her thumb and gazed deeply into the emerald orbs in front of her.

"What's wrong?" Camila asked anxiously, hoping that she hadn't been to forward with the words she had said previously.

"Nothing. It's just that we've only just got together and you're already pouring your heart out to me, I'm wondering what the rest of our future will be like." Both girls laughed light heartedly and Camila breathed a sigh of relief as she hadn't just upset Lauren.

"You're such a dork." Camila laughed quietly.

"Yeah, yeah whatever. At least I can admit to it." The older girl replied, then stuck out her tongue in a childish manner.

"Wow. What are you? 5?" Camila teased, but was very amused by this new side of her girlfriend.

"5 and a half actually." Lauren corrected then stuck her tongue back out.

"Cliché." Camila playfully scoffed.

"Well, I'm going to sort things out with Alec, since I left things in quite a state with him." Lauren said awkwardly, remembering her heated argument with the man. "I'll be back in a minute. Have fun being uptight whilst I'm gone." Lauren teased then got up and began to walk away.

"Hey! I'm not uptight." Was the last thing Lauren heard before she entered the cafe for the second time that night.

Alec was situated in the same booth Lauren and Camila had been sat in with him before the 'storm out'. He peered up from the menu he had been mindlessly gazing at, when he felt a presence hovering over him. His expression was unreadable and Lauren wasn't able to identify if he felt sorry or just had a blank, rude expression, as always.
