THE CLANS
- - -
ThornClan
Clan of the brave and strong
Territory
An oak forest, with plenty other trees mixed in. The undergrowth is dense and spiky, most cats of the Clan having sleek pelts to lower the chance of getting stuck in the foliage. A river cuts through the woodland near the MoorClan border, with a calm enough current to swim across in most conditions. The forest around this border is thin, with fewer trees. The woods closest to the camp are the thickest.
Clan Image
The cats of ThornClan have adapted to their home, with longer legs for leaping over fallen trees and smooth pelts to avoid being caught in the brush. They have duller fur colors, with many tabbies, to try and blend into their territory more. Silent when hunting but like lightening when fighting, this Clan won't be forgotten easily.
MoorClan
Clan of the fast and clever
Territory
A sunny moorland, with a couple of oak and hazel trees dotting the hills. Plenty of rabbits run the land. The grass here is short and springy, though in some areas it can reach to a cat's shoulders. Heather is common here. A small pond—fueled by a thin stream—resides near their camp, providing easy access to water. Moorhens tend to nest along the hills and are considered a delicacy.
Clan Image
The cats of MoorClan are built for running and life out in the open, always ready for a possible quarrel. They resemble Oriental Shorthairs, with big ears and long legs. They are quick to flee, but fiercely clever, their plans almost always succeeding. They are the fastest cats of any Clan, and are hard to forget.
ThistleClan
Clan of the quiet and warm-hearted
Territory
They share the forest with ThornClan, a fast-running river diving the two. Their side has many more thistles and stinging nettles, the foliage thicker and sharper. Their side of the forest also has less tree variation, with mostly oaks and a few birch populating it.
Clan Image
The cats of ThistleClan are hardy, with smaller builds that help them get through their territory. Their pelts are sleek and soft. The cats are surprisingly kind for their seemingly rough nature. This Clan really isn't that special or different.
DrizzleClan
The Clan of the arrogant and quick-thinking
Territory
They share the moors with MoorClan, but with many more hazel and oak trees. A gorge separates them and MoorClan, though is thin enough to be leapt by an experienced cat. The bottom of the gorge is filled with water, but a drop would be deadly, river or not. Streams cross through the territory and fish are a good food source. Moorhens and rabbits are also common.
Clan Image
They appear to have similar builds to MoorClan cats, except with smaller ears and slightly shorter legs. Their pelts tend to be light and smooth, perfect for both running and hiding. These cats rarely think before doing, and often make stupid decisions, refusing to admit when their wrong. Annoying.
StormClan
The Clan of the proud and trustworthy
Territory
They live beside ThornClan, on the side opposite of ThistleClan. Their part of the forest has many more pines, with more space to see the sky. The floor of their territory is muddy and in some places like a marsh, with a river flowing close to the camp. The area around camp is the thickest part of the forest.
Clan Image
The cats of StormClan normally have wide paws and mottled pelts, with many mixed pelt patterns and colors. They are the most loyal cats you'll ever meet, always keeping their word. While they have been known to be arrogant and prideful, their lives are based on the wellbeing of their Clanmates. They would die to defend one another.HISTORY OF THE CLANS + OTHER

ThornClan
ThornClan reside in a sunny hollow, oak branches hanging over the sides. The camp is protected by walls of bramble and bracken, and the main clearing is grassy. A fallen oak at one edge of the camp is used by the leader to call meetings, called the Meeting-Oak.
• The nursery is under a large bramble bush
• The apprentices' den is behind a birch stump, concealed by ferns
• The warriors' den is in a tiny hollow, two boulders making the entrance, with ferns providing shelter. It is beside the apprentices' den.
• The medicine cat's den is in another tiny hollow, a short fern tunnel leading to it. A tiny pool is on one side, the other having a slanted rock which herbs are kept under.
• The elders' den is under another fallen tree, which leans into camp, ferns stuffed between the branches. A maze of branches and twigs leads to a small space where they sleep.
• The leader's den is behind the Meeting-Oak, with moss and ferns providing a soft resting place. The wall of camp makes one of the walls, while the fallen tree makes another; the other two are made of fern. How the Clans began
The founders originally lived in a large Clan named NettleClan, who lived half in a forest and half on a moorland, with many, many cats.
The Clan had been struggling with a famine during the midst of Leafbare, when their leader lost his ninth life; it was time for the deputy to take over. The deputy, Mapletuft, became Maplestar and began her reign.
Maplestar soon became power-crazy, and forced her cats to end all apprentice training, instead having them earn full warrior names at only five moons old. Of course, the kits were ecstatic, though the rest of the Clan was horrified at their leader's actions.
A group of the cats soon rose to overthrow Maplestar; Thorntail, Bramblefoot, Rabbitfur, Russetfang, Nettlestripe, Cedarwing, Drizzlespot, Branchtail, Stormgaze, and Willowpelt.
Unfortunately, while the cats were going over their plan one final time, Maplestar found them and exiled them all. They were quite lucky, though, as she could've easily killed them all.
The group decided to stick together, moving out of the territory and far across the lands beyond NettleClan.
One fateful day, they found the perfect spot; plenty forest, and plenty moorland. They decided to split into their own Clans, wishing each other luck as they separated.
Thorntail and Bramblefoot made ThornClan.
Rabbitfur and Russetfang made MoorClan.
Nettlestripe and Cedarwing made ThistleClan.
Drizzlespot and Branchtail made DrizzleClan.
And finally, Stormgaze and Willowpelt made StormClan.
The Clans' first months were peaceful, cats sharing information and crossing between territories, too used to being together from their long, perilous journey.
That was, until more cats began to join.
Rouges, loners, and even some kittypets from the nearby town joined the Clans, getting their own warrior and apprentice names.
The new cats made the Clans more needy of food, and the new cats also were so used to having territories that they began to mark the borders, developing full camps and such.
The Clans soon fell into war, led been DrizzleClan. They were power-hungry and, with Leafbare settling in, soon fell into the darkest times of the Clans' history.
