See You Again

Slowly we enter the room. I could feel her shaking. She quickly let go of my hand and rushed towards Josh. I didn't know how to feel and obviously neither did he. Neither did any of us. Riley seemed to forget about his amnesia because she started saying Uncle Josh. I kind of just waited for her to realize her fault. It took her a while but she did. He said it was okay and that he was sorry he didn't remember her. She had to leave the room after that. I stayed still not knowing what to do. "And you are?" He says sounding confused but still smiling. "Maya. Maya Hart. I'm her best friend." I say feeling really awkward. "Hi Maya. Evidently my name is Josh." He says scratching the back of his neck. At least that hasn't changed. "Yeah. We've met before." I say. "Oh really. I feel like I would have remembered you." He says tilting his head. "And why would that be?" I ask blushing. "Because you're gorgeous and-" he says before being cut off by the nurse who says that visiting hours are over until noon for checkups and tests. "Until next time Hart." He said raising his eyebrow and grinning. "Until next time" I mimic as I exit the small hospital room. When I left I notice Riley in Mr. and Mrs. Matthews' arms. All of them were crying. I joined them in the hug not the crying. It felt like it had been solved. Like it was just a dream or something. It felt like he...no. He couldn't. It felt like he remembered me. After a while we all headed to Riley's house. "Bay window. Bay window right now" she demands as we walk into the apartment. I don't even say a word, I just slump up the stairs to her bedroom. I follow her to the seat and sit on the corner part of the window of secrets. She sits and once again we stare at each other for a few moments.
