After we'd finished up in the pool and Sauna, we made our way back up to my room.

As soon as we got through my door I threw myself face first onto the bed. I was exhausted.

"Babe, wanna have a shower?" Asked Robby as he walked into my bathroom and smiled at me.

"Sounds great, I'll be in in a sec" I mumbled loud enough for him to hear me into the pillow happily, as he nodded and closed the door.

I looked over to my bedside table and noticed that I had a voicemail and a missed call.

Oh yeah, my phone rang earlier!

I picked up my phone and dialled the voicemail number.

"Welcome to your voicemail service. You have one new voicemail. Received at 17:37 on March 3rd 2013".

"Hello Miss Johnson, this is Manchester city hospital. I'm very sorry to tell you that your mother is in critical condition in casualty. She has drunk an exceedingly high amount of alcohol, and her liver has stopped functioning. I'm afraid her condition is very serious and there is very little chance of survival for her. She is in a coma, but when she was brought in, she was asking for you.

Please call us back when you get this message.

My condolences to you Miss Johnson, goodbye".

"To listen to your message again, press one, to-"

I hung up.

Mum. She was in hospital.

She was going to die and it was all my fault.

If I'd stayed with her none of this would have happened. She would have been safe, but no, I had to call the police.

I dropped my phone onto the floor and stood up in a panic. I had to go and see her, I had to do something. Then I felt depression and sadness sweep over me and I slid down the wardrobe, crouching down on the floor.

I felt the tears spill down my cheeks and then I couldn't stop them. I hugged my knees and sobbed onto them, my wet hair sticking to the side of my face as I began to shake uncontrollably.

"Pais, are you o-" he stopped in the doorway, he could obviously see me on the floor.

I looked up at him as more tears continued to flow out of my eyes and down my cheeks.

"Hey hey hey, what's wrong?" he asked as he hurried over to me, sitting beside me on the floor and wrapping me in his arms tightly.

I clung to him for dear life and sat on his lap, burying my head in the crook of his neck.

"M-mums dying" I stuttered between sobs.

I felt his body stiffen beneath me and his hands began to run through my hair.

"I'm so sorry baby, is she in hospital?" he asked, his voice dripping with sympathy.

"Manchester, she's in a coma but when she was awake, she...she asked for me" I explained, imagining her lying there in a hospital bed, with numerous tubes inserted into her arms and mouth. She won't like it, she hates hospitals, she won't want to be there, she'll be scared.

"Okay okay baby, let's have a shower and then we'll call Trish and Richard to let them know, so we can figure out what to do, yeah?" he asked as he continued to run his hands through my wet hair and rub my back softly.

I nodded against his skin and he picked me up, walking me into the bathroom and closing the door behind us.

I was so scared.

A couple of hours later Robby and I were in the golf, following behind Trish and Richard on our way to the hospital.

This morning I was happy and excited, shopping with Raven and Kristen and looking forward to our holiday and now? Now I was in a car with my boyfriend, shaking like a leaf, clutching onto my phone, with goosebumps all over every inch of skin I had and tears clouding my sight.

We arrived at the hospital within twenty minutes and when he got out of the car to pay for the ticket I blinked away the tears that were threatening to fall and looked out of the windscreen at the towering building that was facing me.

It looked so scary, I couldn't think of a place I wanted to be further away from at this very moment, but I needed to go in there. I needed to see mum before it was too late, and, with that thought in mind, I pushed the door open and stepped out of the car shakily, closing it behind me and making my way over to Trish and Richard who were parked about ten yards away.

Richard was mum's brother and he looked very nervous, running his hand through his hair and avoiding eye contact with me.

Trish took hold of his hand and started walking towards the hospital.

"Aren't you coming love?" she asked as she realised I was still standing still.

"I-I think I'll wait for Robby, I'll catch up to you soon" I managed to stammer before she nodded in understanding and continued to walk away with her husband.

Suddenly I felt a hand entwine fingers with mine and I looked up at my beautiful boyfriend.

He smiled at me sadly and leaned in to my ear.

"You can do this" he whispered and I swear I almost smiled.

The thing was...

I didn't know if I could.
