"Alright, team. We have some important news." My dad says to the whole guy's team. I don't usually take part in anything with the team besides practice so I head over to the bench to grab my water bottle.
"Kiera, you too." My dad says with a mischievous grin on his face.
I raise my eyebrow but walk over nonetheless.
My dads clasps his hands together and takes a deep breath while looking at me. What in the world? We're all looking at him expectantly, the curiosity so thick in the air you could cut it with a knife.
"Kiera has been accepted..."
I look at him, barely able to hold it in any longer.
"To be part of the Falcon High's soccer team!!" He finishes looking at me probably to see my reaction.
My jaw falls slack and I stare at my dad, doing nothing. Then there's a chorus of cheers and "Wow!", all the while I stand there in shock.
I'm not left alone for long though, the guys all run up to me embracing me in some guy group hug. My body is finally able to move from its previous position of being paralyzed and I grin widely. These guys all act like my brothers.
When they finally put me down, I walk up to my dad and give him a giant bear hug. Then look at him, realizing something. "Dad?" I say.
"Yes, Tiger?"
"How... How am I able to join a guys soccer team?"
"Well, I've been working on this for a while now. And they agreed that as long as you're willing to get pushed arou-"
I cut him off right there. "Pushed around?! Puh-lease, they'll be fearing the day I teach them who's boss. Do you not remember me meeting all these dorks?" I gesture to the guys, who seem to be having piggy-back-ride races. I smile, knowing they are proving my point acting like doofuses.
"Ah yes, I do remember that." He says, cupping my face in his hands. "I know you'll be great, honey." He kisses my forehead and whistles the boys over.
They all jog over, talking about random crap. My dad silences them and says, "Great job at practice guys. Remember, we have a game tomorrow so don't be late! The game starts at 6:00 pm, but I want you all here thirty minutes to practice a little."
There's a few mumbles agreeing with him but before they can leave, my dad shouts, "I'm sorry, I didn't know we were in a library. Why were y'all being so quiet eh? C'mon! I want a good solid Yes sir!".
They guys all say in unison, "YES SIR!" with me joining them.

"I can't believe it either!" I happy-scream into my phone. I'm currently on the phone with Alexis."Babe, we need to celebrate!" Alexis says.
"Well heck yea!" I say, getting even more excited.
"Tommy's?" She says, already knowing the answer.
"Why even ask? Of course!! What time? I'll text Dustin." I say enthusiastically.
"Ummmm how about 5:30?" She says.
"Sounds like a plan! Bye love you!" I say.
"Love you too!"
I go onto my messaging app and text Dustin really quick.
To: Dustin
Hey kid. Wanna go to Tommy's at 5:30 with Alexis and I? We're celebrating my joining the guys team.
