{Kiera POV}
"I'm sorry I had to cancel on you last time." Julia is sitting across from me at our dining room table.
"Hm? You didn't cancel, I just had a game." I smile at her. She has short blonde hair that frames her pretty face. She wears little makeup with casual clothes. To be honest, I was picturing a snobby lady with five inches of makeup and wearing a blouse with a pencil skirt and heels. Boy was I wrong.
"Well, yes, but I could've come after or something."
"It's okay, you're here now." I smile again and she gives me a stunning smile back. No wonder dad likes her.
Throughout this conversation my dad has been trying to cut up his steak but it's not working. I look at him and laugh, then stand up and help him.
"Oh, thanks, honey." He says with a sheepish smile.
Julia chuckles and takes a bite of her food. "How does ice cream sound?" She sets her fork down softly.
"I'm all for that!" My dad says excitedly. I swear he still hasn't grown up, and I doubt he ever will. I'm perfectly fine with that.
"Alright, sounds like a plan." She smiles at me.
I think I'll be okay with this.

{Asher POV}
"How the heck do you work this thing?" I ask Lauren.
"Too old for you, hm?" Lauren laughs at me.
"Yea yea, it's not my fault I wan't born in the ancient times."
"Pfft, you wish you were. There's the news for you, I'm sure you'll be at the top."
I scan the screen, not seeing anything with my name. "Is there a missing child page?"
"Ummm, yes. Here you go." She presses a few buttons and the screen changes to pictures of hundreds of children.
I type in my name and it pops up as soon as I type the first letter.
Asher Stone
Missing for one week, last seen at California Foster Home.
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Height: 5'7
Eye Color: Grey
Hair Color: Long, Blonde
Race: White
At the top is a terrible picture of me. I guess it's the only one they can find. It's the one they took when I came to this Foster Home.
"Found me." I say to Lauren, who is folding laundry.
She finishes folding a shirt and walks up to me. "Hm. Nice picture."
I roll my eyes. "Couldn't you get arrested for this?"
"Yup, but I wouldn't send you back to the Foster Home so I'm stuck aren't I?"
"I guess."
She walks back to the basket and Catrina comes up to me, begging to sit in my lap. I lift her up and go back to the news page, seeing if there's anything interesting. A video catches my eye, "16 Year Old Boy Beats Up Man for Making Fun of His Friend". Wow, hardcore.
I click on the video and almost choke. It's Dustin?!
I see a girl playing on a soccer field, Kiera! The man is saying cruel things about girls playing on a boys team.
Then Dustin's fist comes into the frame and makes contact with the man's jaw. It looks painful. When Dustin is done, he grabs the phone and laughs before stopping the video. I sit there in shock and then play the video again to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. Nope, my eyesight is still good.
All I can think is, I have to get back to Kiera.
