" I have a game for you Sherlock."

"who is this?"

"the girl talking is a very old friend of yours."

"who are you?"

"Don't spoil my fun Sherlock. You have 24 hours to solve my little puzzle or your little friend here goes boom."

The line goes dead.

"Carl Powers. my first case. i just have to find out how he died. And all i have is a pair of shoes"

"who was the woman on the phone?"

"hostage. and apparently i have a friend i was unaware of."

"Good job Sherlock. Come and get your prize. You'll thank me for it."

"where?"

°°°

"who are you? why did he say friend?"

" you bastard." the woman says

"what? who are you?"

"rule #3: don't forget my name"

The woman's words sounded familiar but he couldn't place it. He resorted to searching his Mind Palace.

"he really doesn't remember me." the woman said in disbelief

"who are you then?" John asks

"I'll wait for him to tell you. if he really can't remember he doesn't deserve for me to remind him"

"not even a name?"

"Nope."

Sherlock slowly opens his eyes. She looked different. Her hair was brown, her eyes were blue.

"Lyndsi?"

she smiles at him

"I said i would never forget you."

"You died." he asks unbelieving that his best friend isn't dead

"Sort of. My foster parents were killed and they couldn't find me so assumed my corpse was lost in the fire. Oh god I missed you Sherlock"

They both stand up and John can't believe that Sherlock was giving her a hug.

"Hows Myc?"

"Worse than me"

"Worse than you? What's wrong?"

"He's a machine. No emotions, and he's rude"

"Thanks for the assist John." Sherlock says sarcastically

"I see what you mean."

"Help" Sherlock says jokingly

"Oh shut up. You know you don't even have to ask." She punches him in the shoulder playfully

"Remember the rules?"

"If course."

"Did you follow them?"

"No." Sherlock looks down at the floor

"Rules were never his area. You'd think he would remember." She says to John

John laughs slightly and heads to Sara's. It's obvious they need some time to catch up.

"I actually don't have a place to stay. The guy burned my house down." She frowns

"That's alright you can stay here. More than welcome. Just like we used to." He smiles at her

"Oh we were the best of friends weren't we Sherlock."
