Clarke and Lexa were unique. Their relationship only existed within the four walls of their homes, and in the presence of their friends. But that was about it. It didn't exist beyond those lines and neither knew how they felt about the validity of it. It didn't feel real to both Clarke and Lexa and that's what made for a shaky foundation. That's what made for Clarke to constantly question whether or not Lexa actually wanted to be with her or not.
They'd been together for 4 months. Lexa first told Clarke she didn't want to go public about them, one day when Clarke tried to upload a selfie of them laying in bed together. She said she was scared people would know about Costia, and nothing Clarke said could convince her otherwise. She wanted to keep them under the table. And Clarke was in too deep to even think about letting her go.
The show went on, and not a soul on set knew of the relationship between the actress and the writer.
