Chapter 1: Dream

“I’m bored...” said a demon stretching his hands.

An angel stretched along with him and sat on her broom, “So am I."

“Hey! A little help here?” A demon called out with a bunch of files of every high school and college student on earth.

They spread the faces of every single person and got 10 boxes that contains power to use magic. Once they opened the box, an item flew to it’s rightful place.

They all tured and looked at each other and all agreed without a question.

Little did they know that an intruder was watching behind their backs.

 ~Nao's POV~

Sunday morning! A bright, perfect day to spend your day with your pal! Currently, I am sleeping over my friend’s apartment for a few weeks because my parents had to go to Chiba, Japan. I have some clothes, money, and a spare key for my house just in case I need anything. But one thing for sure, I’m going to have a great winter break!

I was getting ready to go out for lunch. I got dressed into a warm coat and tied my hair into a pony-tail. I went out of my room and saw that Kanna was waiting for me near the entrance of my apartment door.

Kanna is a gymnastics and figure skater. She trains hard everyday and goes out to competition. She has dark, shiny black hair and is a lot smarter than me. 

“Sorry to keep you waiting!” I ran towards her. Kanna had a strange look on her face.

“Wow, you sure are happy before our FIRST high school exams...” said Kanna

“Why not? We are going to Yozuki Cafe!” I exclaimed while looping an arm around her.

Yozuki Cafe is only a few blocks away that we walked there.

“I know right! It’s an “Eat-all-you-can” buffet! And it’s 25% off.” Kanna pushes my arm away as she strode towards the entrance while I followed behind.

Meanwhile, Fredric was in America, practicing tennis. He was visiting the Japan over this winter. He is 16 years old (one year older than me) and he used to go to the same school as us. He left because of his parent’s job. He was an OK friend. He can be fun and sometimes annoying BUT not in a bad way.

Once we got to our seats, Kanna reminded me of something that I’ve completely forgotten,” Fredric, Sky and Kei are coming today! Plus we’re going to Sofitel! Aren’t you excited?"

I gasped and replied, “ Wait, did you say Sofitel? Don’t tell me that is the 5 star hotel!” I was practically squealing.

The people inside the cafe stared at me as if I was crazy but went back to whatever they were doing.

“Yup! And Minami is coming with us!” She added.

“Who's Sky and Kei?” I asked. Sky seems to be familiar but I don't seem to remember Kei.

“They are Fredric’s friends. You don’t remember Kei?! He was always with Fredric. Anyway you will know when we see him,” she got up and went to the buffet.

Suddenly, my phone rang. It was from Gabby. She goes to a different internaltional school. Our school is called "The Lions" and her school is called “The Tigers.” From what I heard, she is popular and very smart.

"Hello?"

"Nao!! Can you switch with Kanna? QUICKLY!!!"

"Why?"

"Just! I don't have time,"

"Ok,"

I got up and dashed towards Kanna and handed her the phone.

"It's from Gabby," I said passing her my phone.

Since there were some meat, meat, meat and rice, I dumped then on my plate as if a lion was ready to eat. Soon Kanna joined me on the table.

“She let us borrow her old car because they have a new car. Her driver is coming to with the car right now to the condo!!” 

"The big one?" I asked

"Yup!" she answered

While heading back to the condo, a sudden earthquake happened. The floor was shaking so hard, I almost lost my balance. This was a huge one that I’ve ever experienced. Suddenly people were starting to bump into me from the left to right making me loose sight of Kanna. I screamed for her name but no one would answer. I began pushing my way through the crowed but I ended up on a dead end? It was so foggy that I wasn’t able to see a thing but a wall that was hard

From that wall, I heard a voice, “Yohime?"

The moment he said that name, the fog disappeared and the wall was actually a man!  I looked behind him to see a clear blue sky with clouds right below us. I moved my feet but there was no floor. I’m dead. Soon I began falling as like alice in wonderland except I saw myself in a different clothing that was all torn. I closed my eyes. 

“Nao!” Kanna snapped me out. I looked around and saw myself in front of the condo.

“I’m fine. The earthquake disappeared,” I replied, patting her shoulders.

“Did you know that this earthquake happened all around the world and there was no damages?!” 

I ignored her. She shook me.

“What?” I said sounding annoyed.

“Nevermind,” 

“Let’s go,” we walked towards the elevator going up.

The next unexpected thing happened.
