Chapter 16: Settling

     I was falling. I got out my card and and opened the portal before hitting the ground. I was back in Angon. I landed in the the castle battle field. How did I end up here? Anyway, Emily, a.k.a. Athena in this world, was in front of me.

Level: 14

Skill: Light arrow/ Requip/ Frisbee 

     “I’ll make you a deal, IF you win, I shall give you the light arrow that I just got a while a go.” she said confidently. She wasn’t talking to Nao, she was talking to Yukino, a person different from Nao. Athena placed the light arrow on a fancy looking bench. I ignored the reward.

     “Hey Athena, just to let you know, I’m still a level 7,” I told her. I haven’t trained in a long time and for some reason I was looking forward to battling her as Yukino.

     She gave me a devilish look, “Don’t worry, this game will be finished in a flash!” Her eyes were filled with excitement and confidence. It’s like she could see the future but I could change it. Before I got ready, I got a gift from Kitsune. 

     A new transformation installed. It was the Snow Armor. I quickly transformed into that to know what new technique I could do with it. I felt lighter. Lighter than a feather. Like snow.

Rules: 

Only one transformation is allowed.

You can only win by stoping them for three seconds or making HP go to 0%.

     I read the rules for this was my first time battling against players and not Betas. Emily and I got ready to battle. A big sign appeared between us. It was counting down.

     We both stood still. Emily with her frisbee. We were waiting for either of us to make the first move. As minutes passed, neither of us still moved but more people came, watching us. Most of the fans were Emily’s. The fans cheering, getting me annoyed. Shut up, I thought. I was getting pissed. About 10 minutes have been up already. I felt something on my waist. It was small. Was it a sword? I pulled it out. Great, just great. It was a fan. I opened it. It was a beautiful one. 

     “Hey Athena, is it just me or is it getting hot in here?” I asked her, fanning myself.

     “NO. It’s getting cold here,” she started shivering. That was weird. She was really shivering, not acting. Now’s my chance.

     “Starry Dust!” I shut the fan, pointed it to Emily and a huge, chilly wind came behind me. 

     Emily was able to stay on the ground with her frisbee lighting up. Gravity Magi perhaps? As the time limit came, Emily has thrown her frisbee straight towards me. Before it could reach me, I jumped over the thrown projectile, trusting my instincts, and stepped on the frisbee once. The look on Emily’s face was priceless, but she recovered and the frisbee drifted back to her open hand.

     I quickly looked back, seeing the frisbee coming towards me. I dogged it again but it made a scratch on my ankle. It was real pain, not a simple game here. My HP dropped I only had 2/3 left. It came again and again and I again. Out of 5 times coming, I got hit only once. 1/3 left. Emily was holding her frisbee again, she was going to make her final move. I heard the crowd cheering. I smirked at her face.

“HAHAHAHAHA” I laughed out loud (lol). I laughed at her so hard that I almost fell to my knees leaving her with a puzzled look.

“What?” she demanded an answer. I probably looked like a freak for laughing so much.

“Look at your HP Ms. Frisbee,” She only had 1/3 left as well. My starry dust has small attacks that couldn’t be noticed. 

She was now annoyed and wanted it to settle this once and for all. Emily threw her frisbee hard, “Light sphere!” 

I quickly swung my hand across me, letting go a powerful amount of snow, trapping her in ice. Don’t worry, she can breath. There was a count down right beside her.

“No, no, no!” I heard her scream

I’ve completely forgot about the frisbee.

I saw the glowing frisbee coming straight towards me like a bullet. Within a split second, there was diamond dust spreading across the whole battle field. The crowed grew silent as they were waiting for it to disappear. I was holding my left shoulder for that was where it hit me hard. There was real pain, just a scratch but really hurts. As the dust was clearing up, I saw Emily down. 

I had only 1 HP left. That was close a close call. My eyes were blur as I could hear the crowd scream wild. Who won? My vision was going blank. There, I saw a pair of golden eyes before I passed out.

I woke up in my room, seeing Lio (in girl form) siting on my chair, looking through my stuff. I quickly got up, causing pain on my shoulders. 

“Calm down. Your pain will be gone within one more minute. Oh, and nice stories you’ve written,” she said smiling. Great, I’m totally embarrassed! She read my stories that I made just for fun and she can now tease me.

“You know, you shouldn’t look at people’s private shtuff without permission,” I scolded him.

“BUT thanks to your ideas, we’ve decided to make your guilds a better place. More fun with more adventure! Making each kingdom battle for it’s glory. We are starting the new project and for one week, on Earth, it shall be building. Meanwhile, each players shall have to do quests in order to make their kingdom strong,” she explained. 

     I just and stood up without saying a word and the pain was really gone. All healed, no scars, and 100% HP. It was a simple battle. 

“Now that you know your power, to control ice or snow, I’ll send you a battle request soon and if you beat me, your bet is off,” she smirked.
