Chapter 17: New Year Battle

Dec. 31, 11pm (Angon)

There was one more hour before they announce new year and the start of the new game. I bolted to my room for I had to get changed and I was going to be late. They are going to announce the new changes and that we are going to be the so called "Princess and Prince." They said as for the King and Queen's entertainment, each of us Beta players will have to battle our partners. Ugh. 

"You're late!" Scolded Lio (still in girl form) me. She looked gorgeous, well probably she's a model that I don't know of.

"I'm sorry! I'll get dressed!" I dashed to the changing room, grabbed the card, and changed but my hair was still a mess. I just let it down, making it a bit wave from the pony tail. I got out and saw Lio with a depressed look.

"You are NOT going out looking like that," she dragged me to the bathroom and started fixing my hair. She braided two small sides in front and then connected them in the back. For the final touch, she decided my hair into two and placed them in front. 

"Thanks," I said shyly. I wasn't sure if this was really me. 

"Now, get out there and don't make me embarrassed!" The model told me. 

I was now in a white dress( again), long, puffy, silky and really hard to walk with. I glanced at the clock and with my distress, I only had 2 more minutes to get to the throne room! I lifted my skirt and started running down the stairs. If your expecting me to trip and get caught in someone's hands, wrong. I was able to make it in time.

"Please come in the masters of element air," The Tatoyama brothers went with style. They got a big, BIG cheer. 

"Are you ready, princess?" I heard Fredric from the back. 

I reminded myself that I was Yukino and not Nao, "Not really, how about you prince?"

"Please come in the masters of the Light and Dark," They announced.

We both went in and saw both our guild cheering for us. We got in the line. 

"Welcome to the opening of My World Angon! Please enjoy your stay here and get to know each other. The new quests and the olympics!" the Queen announced. 

We all soon received our crowns. After that, they all started dancing. It was fun looking at them enjoying themselves. I went outside and started swaying my hands creating small snow. It was already snowing and it looked plain boring. I sat on the edge of the balcony and planned to jump off but someone stopped me. 

"What do you think you're doing, Yukino?" I heard Fredric grabbing my arm.

"I should be saying the same thing to you," I shot him back. 

"Shall we dance?" He asked.

"Sorry but I have to do something," I replied to him with a smile.

"Let me- -" He got cut off.

"Why don't you let her go and wait to see what she will be doing," Loki said pushing me down. 

I own him one. I used my magic to land safely and made myself a path going to the sky. It can only last for ten minutes and that was all I needed. Exactly ten minutes to get warmed up and ready before the clock strikes twelve. 

Soon I heard voices counting down. I got ready to do some work. I rubbed my hands together creating some snow.

2...

1...

I threw the snow up and made some fireworks and made the snow crystal. Suddenly the platform I was standing on started to crack. I was soon falling (again) and hoped to make a safe landing from a 400m drop. Most likely not. I closed my eyes. 

I was caught in two warm hands, "Are you okay, Princess?" 

"Thanks, I owe you another one," I said to the demon fox, looking at him in the eye.

"You can do that by dancing with me," He smiled as he grabbed my hands.

We started dancing for just a while until a speaker came up, "For our first two battles, lets have Titania VS Lio and Nightmare VS Jack."

"I have to go," I stepped backwards. 

"Good luck!"

I was guessing that this "Jack" person is Fredric's partner. I headed towards the castle field where we will be having our battle. I was just on time!

"Ready to loose?" I heard excitement in Lio's voice. He was in boy form.

"That's my line!" 

There was the counter (again) and the battle soon began. That reminds me. What is Lio's power?

Suprisingly, it looks like we'll be using the same battle court as Fredric and Jack. In the middle of the battle, he "accidentally" bumped into me and we were now back to back. Lio was so powerful. His power was to be able to control things with his hands. So he lifted me up and began spinning me around. Soon the battle was filled with darkness from Fredric's power, letting me have a chance to attack but the problem is I don't know where Lio is standing. 

I heard a footstep coming from the back and shot a Ice Arrow at it. As Fredric's power got to it's limit, I saw that I got Jack in the back. Wow that rhymes. 

"We're not done yet," I heard Lio's voice coming towards me.

"Yukino watch out!" Fredric pushed me aside and he began flying.

"Wrong opponent Lio!" I swung my hands towards Lio and made him fly high to the sky. As he was busy flying, I caught Fredric and tossed him up. (A/N: Remember Lio can fly) From here, it looks like Fredric got Lio.

"And the winner is Lio and Jack!" Announced the King.

"What?" I got suddenly shocked (dramatic moment). I tried to move but I couldn't.

"Look around you!" I heard Jack's voice. He stood up completely fine. I was trapped!

"Yeah! We won!" Lio landed back with a cube. 

"What happened?" I asked.

"Once you loose your HP, you'll be like this," Lio tossed the cube to me. It was floating on my hand.

"Poor Fredric. Still needs some training!" Jack snatched the cube away from me and stared tapping it in a pattern. Fredric was now standing again.

We both got back to the castle and watched the others battle. After the battle, the sun was rising. It was amazingly beautiful from this distance. 

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!" I heard everyone's voices. That reminded me, what did Loki mean by 'Why am I fake?'
