Chapter 20: Ace

Ace, Ace, Ace, Ace. His rumors made me curios about him. If he is really cursed than how come that the maids can see him or touch him. But how did he get cursed? I asked one of the maids and they gave me the exact information that Lio told me. 

- - - - - Few weeks - - - - - - - 

I was getting used to my new schedule. After school I would always go to Angon to train and test my limits. Right now my level has gone up to 73! Just as I was about to leave my room with the book that I forgot to return to Kitsune, a maid caught my attention. 

“Prince Ace! Where are you?” shouted one of the maids. 

I secretly followed her to a different side of the castle that I’ve never seen. Yes it was creepy but it was worth my chance to see how he looks like. There were stairs that twisted and turned all the way up to a room and it was very hollow except there was only two maids searching for him here. Suddenly a presence behind me shut my mouth and grabbed my right wrist tightly. 

“Don’t talk or I’ll curse you.” a male voice whispered deep into my ear. 

I nodded and we kept quit for a while until both maids left the spot. We ran up and up the stairs. The stairs were endless and were more than I thought there would be. Once we got inside the room, he shut it closed and I just stayed beside the door.

“Sorry to drag you to that mess,” he apologized. The stranger didn’t seem to be tired at all as if he has been running up and down for a long time.

I just nodded. *huff* *huff* I looked straight up to see the stranger who took me up. His hood was on so I couldn’t really see his face but he was taller than me wearing a brown, old fashioned coat.

“You can speak now.” 

“Um…*huff* Wait, let me breath for a moment. *inhale* *exhale* W-Who are you?” I said feeling dumb.

With a serious tone he replied to my obvious question, “I’m Prince Ace. And I know all about you, Yukino.”

I just stared at him blindly not knowing what to say.

He nodded and then gave me a drink, “Here, you must be thirsty since we ran all the way up plus you might want to look at that book.” 

“Arigato!” I said happily.

I opened the books and saw a genie. A story about a genie. Suddenly, a big gust of wind came from the window flipping the pages and lifting the hood of the Prince’s face, seeing his two eyes with different colors: one emerald green and the other gold. Ace placed his hood back on before I could see his whole face.  With Ace’s power, he shut the window closed. 

I blinked twice to check what I just saw. The eyes of Kei and Kitsune. Are they brothers or something? 

“Don’t worry, you’re not cursed by me. You’re already cursed by someone else. I’m just another person in line waiting for him to be defeated.” he faced back.

I tried to stay calm and thought about what he said, “So, those it mean that I can see you? Face to face?”

Looks like I got his attention. He turned his head but not at me, “It’s better if you don’t.” He turned his head back to the window.

This was my chance to remove his hood even if it might make him angry but I really want to find out something. But instead. I tripped and made my knees bleed a little. Ace turned around the instant my knees bled and for a moment I saw his eyes red but I saw his teeth ready to eat something. 

“You know, you should just stay down the way you are like all weak humans do.” His voice starting to get more tense. 

“What do you mean? We’re not weak you k-k—“ I get cut with him getting super close to me. Eye-to-eye. Red to brown… wait something’s weird. Red to ...

~Ace’s POV~

Red to purple. They symbol of mystery, curse and… and… 

~Yukino’s POV~

I want walking into my room being frightened and scared. I’m cursed! I’M CURSED!

"You sure are lazy as ever so LET ME IN ALREADY!” Lio’s annoying voice came behind the door. Can’t I have a sound proof room?

“I’m not letting you in! It feels so good and warm in here.” I was lying down on my super comfortable bed not wanting to wake up.

“Do you want to do something fun?"

“It’s not going work!"

“Do you wanna go shopping?”

“Bye bye Lio!” 

*Beep*

My phone rang from a unknown number.

“Hello? Nao?”

“Who is this?” I asked.

“It’s me.” Another serious tone answered.

“I’m sorry but I think you dialed the wrong number Mr. Me, bye.”  I wasn’t joking around.

“Wait! It’s me, Kitsune!”

“Well you should have said so in the first place!” 

“Haha, you never do change do you?”

“You don’t even know me!"

“Oh really?Then what if I offered you a trip to the amusement park?”

“OMG! Are you serious? I wanna go! Gimme that ticket!” I soon covered my mouth with my hands.

“Haha! I knew that you would say that.”

“As if!"

“Aren’t you afraid?”

“Afraid of what?”

“That it’s a date?”

“IT’S A DATE!” I panicked! That reminds me: it’s my first time to go out with a boy!

“No it’s not. I just wanted to hang out with someone because I’m bored."

“Okay fine! What time?” I felt relax.

“Four thirty.”

“Okay! Don’t get the wrong idea ok?"

“…”

Just by looking at this tittle made me think, can a genie loose his/her lamp? As I scanned through the pages a section caught my eye. It read:

~Loki/ Kitsune’s POV~

“He is the final obstacle to get the wish.” I let the part go with the wind and get lost. Right under the page lies the answers.
