A/N Thank you again to Anna for doing the hard grammar work and helping get these 13516 words done in time for Update Day! And Kitkat for listening to me whine about what my characters are doing and being a huge part of my inspiration for writing in the first place.

Dr. Green's POV

I had worked a twelve-hour shift tonight.

Almost. I was supposed to work until midnight but I snuck out at ten because they didn't need me. Things would get so much worse when the new mission started next week and I already felt like I was spread too thin.

I got home and kicked my shoes off as I walked. Oh, Owen would be mad. Just that thought made me laugh and leave them where they lay. I stripped off my tie and unbuttoned my top two buttons as I walked up the stairs to my bedroom. Usually, I was determined to wash off the hospital after work but tonight I just collapsed onto the bed and became blissfully unaware.

Minutes later I was rudely awakened by a redline.

'Should have taken the phone out of my pocket', I grumbled to myself. But at least I was awake as it must be important. I look at the clock, it's a quarter to one. Ok, so I was asleep for more than a few minutes!

The phone buzzes in my hand again. Right, phone call. Redline! "Hey, Doc." He starts speaking at the same time as I answer,

"Kota?"

"What's wrong Kota?" I ask, slipping into doctor mode.

"No, I'm fine." Kota's reply seems a little reluctant. Which just makes me worry. I know that some of them were on a mission tonight with him but I don't know the details.

"What about Owen? North. Luke..." I start to list off my brother's names and Kota cuts me off. "Doc! I am sure they are fine too. It's a Bird."

A Bird? What bird? Has he met someone? Why would he be redlining me? "Kota if you found someone who needs help..."

He interrupts me again, "Doc please? Can you come over, she is in pain."

He found an injured Bird? What on earth was he doing at one in the morning. "If she is hurt you should take her to the hospital, call the police, at the very least inform Owen" He responded right away to that line of thought "No, I would like you to see her before we call him" Alright so it was a personal matter. We needed to keep it in the family... "Kota, if it is personal I understand. But Owen needs to know," he sighs, "I know Doc, I just don't want to overwhelm her."

I rub my hand down my face thinking of Owen's expression after finding out he was left out of family business.

"I'll be there in twenty minutes"

"Alright. We will see you in a while." And he hangs up.

I get up and run downstairs. I open the hall closet and grab my medical bag and look around at the other medical paraphernalia. She's not likely to have broken bones or anything major. If she does I'll flay Kota for not taking her to the downtown hospital. So is it most likely cuts, bruises or something like a twisted ankle. I grab extra bandages, some cream I use for Nathan and a few ace bandages to be safe and stuff those into the bag as well.

Jogging out to the car I realize I haven't changed since work and sleeping in my clothes. I am a wrinkled mess. I shrug, who am I trying to impress?
