A/N Thank you again to Anna for doing the hard grammar work and helping get these 13516 words done in time for Update Day! And Kitkat for listening to me whine about what my characters are doing and being a huge part of my inspiration for writing in the first place.
Victor's POV
It is two in the morning and I hadn't been to sleep yet. My mother and father had been at it about the newest mistress and the fight had spilled over into my world. Somehow, my father thought it was my fault that she had found out. Not this time. Those are important bits of information I like to keep to myself to help keep him in line, and away from me.
It was quiet now but I was too on edge to get any sleep so I was in my office taking apart North's latest computer. I think he broke them on purpose so as not to have to do written reports.
I received a slight static zap and pulled my phone out of my pocket. Who would be texting me at two in the morning? There weren't any missions on overnight tonight.
The text was from Mr. B., "Mr. Morgan research a 'Miss Sang Sorenson' and family. Her's is the family that just moved in across from Misters Lee and Griffin. I will expect a report from you as soon as possible in the morning."
I wonder what this is about. I knew better than to ask. I would be told when I needed to know. I may just find out while I did the digging into Miss Sorenson's background. Moving from my work table I crossed the room to my dragon desk and pulled out the desk drawer. I flicked the switch that opened the panel for my key code, entered it and waited for the monitors to rise from the desk.

Three hours later. I found that Emily Sorenson and her daughter Marie lived at the address I found along with Marc Drillings and son Ryan. They all moved from Illinois five weeks ago. I also discovered that Sang Sorenson, Marie Sorenson and Ryan Drillings were registered for Ashley Waters High. That was lucky if we were looking into this family it would make that job easier since we would be going to the same school this year.
Another hour later, Sang's shot records were off. There were no corresponding medical records to go with them. If you just looked at her school records everything looked fine apart from the fact that she had missed every school photo day in her school career. But try and match the school records with medical records and you come up with nothing.
Sang didn't exist on paper.
A more detailed background check would need to be done but this was a piece that Mr. Blackbourne needed to know. Sang appeared to be a 'Ghost Bird'.
This would change all of our lives. If we adopted a Ghost we would become a very powerful team in the Academy.
I took a deep breath and picked up my phone from my desk and dialed Mr. B.
He answered on the first ring. This must be important if he had been up waiting for my call. "Report, Mr. Morgan."
I start in right away with the most important information. "It will take a deeper background check. But I believe Sang Sorenson is a Ghost Bird"
"A Ghost?" There was a pause on the line. "I will call in a favor to see what information we can get. We have too much on our plate right now with the upcoming assignment to do a thorough check on our own. I am going to go and meet her now and see if she is a candidate. Either way she needs our help." He sounded rushed and a bit excited.
That surprised me more than anything so I had to ask, "What happened Mr. B?"
"Mr. Lee stopped Miss Sorenson from running away tonight. She is in a bad situation at home. Which may have something to do with her Ghost status. Mr. Lee called Dr. Green to treat her injuries and they informed me. They are both quite taken with her."
