My Mate the Angel

Chapter 18

-Emily's POV-

(one week later)

A week after saving my brother and best friend, everyone is still tense at the thought that there are such a thing as demons.

And of course the thought that Kim and I are going to be targeted by them every now and then again.

Kim and I try to tell and show them that we can hadle whatever comes our way, but they still don't loosen up.

When a bat-winged demon called a Germidor tried to do a surprise attack on Kim while she was flying, they both ended up crash landing on the ground though Kim was unharmed.

Derek ran straight towards the demon and grabbed its wings together, making the demon yelp in pain.

Kim had gotten mad at him because he took a risk he shouldn't have.

The demons black wings had black thorns on them that extracted poison that caused terrible pain that could almost kill you.

Even now she is still angry at him.

At breakfast this morning he had tried to hug her and she had quickly gotten out of his reach.

She left the kitchen with ttoast and Orange juice and retreated to her bedroom, slamming the door closed.

Derek and her used to share but then she kicked him out into the living room on the couch.

Jess wrapped his arms around my waist and huffed a content sigh.

I laughed and smiled as Derek growled at Jess with jealousy.

"You should have said sorry to her right after the fight, Derek. Then she wouldn't treat you so harsh. I mean you did act as though she was just a child and not a thousand year old angel-turned-human-demon-slayer-with-super-powers."I tell him while closing my eyes and tilting my neck as Jess kisses my neck where it connects with my shoulder.

Where his mark was.

A tingle with a hot edge to it started from his mark through my whole body.

Derek huffs with jealousy as he considers what I have told him.

When I open my eyes he's on the top of the stairs and at Kim's bedroom door.

He visibly takes a deep breathe before knocking on the door.

Kim answers it with her head down.

By just that little message of body language I'm off Jess and in the bedroom with Kim and the door closed.

She looks up at me and sniffles before giving me a wobbly smile.

We hug each other tightly as she cries happily with a little worry between each tear drop.

Derek pounds on the door with his fist, though he can't get through it because of the tons of metal inside the door.

Kim laughs at each pound of Derek's fist on the door before going over and unlocking the door.

She hides halfway behind it and stares at Derek with a joyful smile.

Derek sighs with content before smiling at her and scrunching his face up in a confused expression.

Jess walks in behind him and smiles at me, knowing why I locked Kim and I together in the room.

Derek walks to Kim and grabs her hands.

"I'm sorry for treating you like a child when it was your battle to fight." he tells her clearly not able to see that she is glowing and happy for an entirely DIFFERNT reason.

Kim nods her head before looking at me and asking silently for me to hug her while she tells him.

I laugh softly while I walk to her and wrap my arms around her.

"I'm... I'm pregnant." she says with pride and confidence.

Derek instantly goes still and Jess and I laugh while Kim smiles at him.

"That's one of the reasons you didn't let me fight. The other is because you are an over-protective mate." she tells him and wraps her arms around him.

Derek instantly unfreezes and asks if she forgives him.

She laughes and nods, hugging him a little tighter.

Derek launches right into asking questions about their child.

She answers and smiles as he never lets her go while asking them.

After a few minutes of answering his questions she covers her mouth and runs to the bathroom.

He runs after her.

Jess and I walk out of the room to give them privacy.

Once we're out we head to a spare room that we've been using since a week ago.

It's blue with wood flooring and a king sized bed that it white and sky blue.

A walk-in closet and a mirror hanging on the inside of one of the doors to it.

It even has a huge bathroom too.

Jess lead us to the bed and we both lay down in the satin blues and whites.

He wraps his arms around me as we listen to the wind ruffling the blue curtains to one of the windows in the room.

We're just about asleep when I suddenly feel a little nauseous.

Running to the bathroom I lean over the toilet and throw-up my breakfast.

Jess sites next to me and holds my hair back for me as it happens.

I sit up a few minutes later and wipe my mouth with some toilet paper.

Before I can even try to stand Jess has me out of the room, down the stairs, out of the house, and in his truck.

He drives like a speed demon to the pack doctor's office building.

Before I can even think whats happening I'm in the doctor's office with a hospital gown on.

The doctor comes into his office and takes this situation in and shakes his head.

I'm guessing this is quite normal for him.

But for me this was out right akward and embarrassing.

Jess holds my hand and just watches as the doctor spreads my legs apart.

I instantly blush and start thinking about something else.

Before I know it I'm back in my clothes and in the truck with information on why I threw up a bit ago.

I was pregnaunt.

No wonder why Jess was so fast and determined to get here.

Even though I could have just found out if I was from a pregnancy test.

Like Kim did.

Jess had never took his eyes off of the doctor while we were there.

I don't think he'll even let me fight while pregnaunt.

Don't get me wrong I'm totally happy that i am, I just hope Jess doesn't get too over-protective.

Looking over at him now I don't think my hope will be enough.

He hasn't stopped smiling since we got out of that place.

If its a girl, she's going to never be able to even see a boy in her whole life.

If its a boy, he's going to be a big heartbreaker and mommas little boy.

I smile at the thought.

I hope it's twins.
