The cafeteria is crowded and yet I can't find anyone to sit with. I'm still trying to keep to myself.

"Eadlyn!" Oh god. "Hey Eadlyn over here!" I turn to see Neena waving at me. I put up my hand in an attempt at a wave. She comes over to me "hey come sit with us it'll be fun" she leads me to a table of about 6 people.

"Guys this is Eadlyn... Uh what's your last name?"

I panic, oh god they'll know if I say Schreave. "Watson. Eadlyn Watson"

The blond boy is watching me weird, he looks kind of familiar but I can't place where I've seen him before.

"Cool. Eadlyn this is mark, Henri, josie, Kile, and Erik"

"We've met" Erik says smiling at me.

"You have?" Neena looks confused "oh Spanish right" she points me to the seat next to her and takes my tray for me

"Thanks" I say

"So where you from?" The boy with blond hair and blue eyes asks, Kile I think his name was.

"Los Angeles" I say taking a spoonful of food

"Cool. We used to live there when we were little" the girl says, Josie I remember.

"We?"

"Yeah, me and Kile"

I nearly spit out my food. Kile and Josie. My neighbours from when I was 4. Oh god they know I'm lying about my last name. Our parents are friends. But they don't seem to have any intention of outing me.

"Oh cool." I say avoiding eye contact. I can feel kiles eyes on me.

"Anyway I really should be going, class starts soon" I say getting up.

"Ill walk you to your next class" Kile says getting up

He doesn't say anything until after we leave the cafeteria.

"What's your age Schreave?"

I stop and look at him "what are you talking about? My names Watson"

He looks at me with soft eyes "you think I don't remember you? You were my first kiss. In fact I think you threatened to kill me if I ever tried again"

"I was four it doesn't count"

"Got you. Why won't you tell them your name?"

I look down "I don't want any fake friends in search of financial or social aid"

He nods "ok makes sense." He starts walking

"Wait that's it? You're not gonna say anything?"

He turns around "say anything about what?" He winks at me "you look good by the way" and he's gone.

I stand in confusion at the door of my classroom.
