Fiona pulled away from the kiss with the biggest smile on her face.

“Just as sweet as the last one” She said.

I chuckled to myself knowing that if I tried to say anything she was just going to interrupt me again. I smiled back because I genuinely enjoyed the kiss.

“So, what now?” I asked politely.

“I don’t know, you tell me” she said. “I came here to apologize for everything. I didn’t think you were going to forgive me for the way that I acted. I really am sorry Robert. I love you”.

I smiled and a single tear ran down my face. She was confused at first but then realized that I wasn’t mad or angry. She knew that I loved her too. It was quiet for a moment while we finished picking up baseballs. It wasn’t shortly after we finished picking baseballs up did she say something.

“Robert...” her voice trailed. “I know I’ve messed up and I know that I can’t magically seem like it didn’t happen but I’m sorry. I truly love you and I have two important questions to ask you”.

“Okay,” I told her. “But before you ask your questions I need to say something,” I spit out quickly.

“Of course,” she responded.

“Since before we officially started hanging out, I’ve always had a crush on you. You have always been that one person that brought butterflies to my stomach. I love the time that we spent together and I want to have more of those times. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I forgive you and that I hope things can get back to where they were.”

She was stunned for a moment. I decided it was best to give her a minute. While waiting on the stunned and still beautiful Fiona, I took the baseballs back to the dugout.

I came back out and Fiona had finally re-gathered. She quickly walked up to me as I turned to head towards the bleachers. I figured talking might take a while so it would be better to sit.

“Instead of sitting in the bleachers, why don’t we go to Pizza Heaven? My treat,” she said.

“Alright, if that’s what you want to do sure,” I said.

We walked down to Pizza Heaven where I went and picked out a booth for us to sit in. About a minute later Fiona came back and said that I must have a really cool friend because the owner said it was on the house tonight.

I laughed to myself and she did the same.

“Yea, that’s Mr. Diaz for you,” I said.

She laughed shortly before straightening her face out again.

“What you told me on the field kind of narrowed it down to one question,” Fiona said.

“Wait. How did what I say get rid of a question?” I asked her.

“The first question I was going to ask you was if you could find it in your heart to forgive me. You already did that so I felt as if it was unneeded for me to ask,” she said.

“Oh, that makes sense,” I said.

“That brings me to the-” She was cut off by Mr. Diaz bringing us two of the biggest mother fucking slices of pizza god has ever let man create.

We thanked Mr. Diaz as he walked away saying “Enjoy!”

“What were you saying Fiona?” I asked trying to get back at the matter at hand.

“Can we talk about it after we eat?” she asked. “Sorry, I’m just starving at the moment”.

I laughed but quickly said “No worries”.

We didn’t really try small talk while we were eating because we were both starving. We ended up eating almost everything. The reason I said almost is because the pizzas were to fucking big. I swear to you we could have had one slice of pizza and been plenty full. But no, Mr. Diaz’s bitch ass had to bring out dinosaur sized fucking pizzas.

We finally decided we were done stuffing our faces and we pushed our plates to the middle of the table. We did this because here at Pizza Heaven, doing that means you’re done and the waiter/waitress can come clean the items off of your table.

“Now that we have stuffed our faces and both feel like we are about to explode,” I trailed off. “Do you remember what you were going to ask?”

“Oh, that,” She mumbled. “Yea, I remember. I just don’t know how I want to ask is the problem.”

“Oh,” I said. “Just say it the way that makes you most comfortable or less nervous,” I offered.

She took a few deep breaths before moving or saying anything. After about a minute of this she finally got the courage up to ask me the question.

            “Robert Franks” Fiona said.

Dear lord she is using my full name this can’t be good.

“Will you do me the honors of going back out with me?” she finally asked nervously.

The entire pizza parlor awed and Fiona turned bright red. I was turning red for a minute before realizing. I don’t give a fuck what people think about me. I quickly thought it over though I knew my immediate answer.

“Fiona Langdon,” I said confidently. “I would love to go out with you”.
