The next few of weeks flew by like you wouldn’t believe. There were baseball games and dates with Fiona but it all seemed to fly by like we were living in fast forward. All baseball games were great. Out of the last four games we played I only allowed three base hits and I never allowed any scores though. With my arm like a cannon I was un stoppable.
We came to the championship game and like everyone else, I was ready for another victory. If we won today’s game we would be on our way to face other states in our league of baseball and we would be in the running to eligible to meet the entire Yankees team. Nothing would make us happier then to win this game today.
Though it was a two hour drive to a neutral field in southern New York somewhere, we were all refreshed and ready to play once we were off the bus. I was excited because like all of my most recent games, I had someone in the bleachers that was going to cheer me on. Fiona was going to be there because I was able to convince her dad to come watch the game. When your coach knows a guy from the Yankees, favors aren’t too hard to pull.
“How was the bus ride?” Fiona asked sarcastically.
“No worse than the car ride you had,” I said with a smirk.
We both started laughing and we headed towards the field.
“You’re going to win for me today, right?” Fi asked.
“Pffft, no,” I said.
I watched as her face went from a sly smile to full out shock.
“What do you mean you’re not going to win for me?!” she asked sounding hurt.
“I’m going to win for everyone who came to support me and the team,” I said nonchalantly.
She gave me a gentle shove and the we laughed together.
“Let’s be real,” I said. “Nobody else deserves the win more than you do,” I said giving her a kiss.
“That’s the truth,” she said laughing and kissing me back.
I ran onto the field and started warming with the catcher. We started with just throwing the ball and stretching. Then we moved into pitching, though we didn’t show how well I could throw it.
Pre game was pretty usual, coaches met, said what they had to say and were on there way to give prep talks to the team.
“Alright team. We have made it this far and we haven’t lost yet. We have beat them once we can do it again .Lets go out there, beat there ass into next year, but all else, let’s have fun with it.
(The rest is to be continued at a later time. For now I am unfortunate to say that the story will be discontinued as the result of writers block, and other personal issues. Feel free to message me with any complaints, concerns or anything really. Until then, Jeff).
