New chapter, guys. Enjoy~
~Ruvik~
"Don't give up, [y/n]." He said in a low voice. He had disconnected [y/n] from STEM right after waking up, but she was still unresponsive after almost thirty minutes. She was supposed to wake up right after he unplugged her, but she didn't. "Open your eyes."
He remembered everything that had happened.
Freak was getting out of control.
And Ruvik didn't like not being in control.
"Are you really going to torture yourself?" He had asked Freak in a monotone way. He was trying to understand her actions, he really was, but that side of [y/n]'s mind was too unpredictable. So he just waited for her answer.
But she did not answer. Instead...
"The human mind is a powerful thing, they say." She just stood there, watching as [y/n] drowned on blood."But I think they're wrong."
Freak slowly turned to face him, and Ruvik took the opportunity to absorb her appearance. Her features were very similar to [y/n]'s since they were the same person, but Freak held some unique traces that left him thinking if she wasn't one of those demons his mother used to talk about when she rant about her religion.
Freak's skin looked rough and her messy hair dull. Her dark bruised lips formed a thin line on her face, with the sides pointing up as if she was a smiling cat. And there was also her posture, even though she seemed tired, with dark bags under her eyes, she still stood as still as a tree.
"I see the human mind as a highly manipulative and breakable thing." She wasn't frowning..., he had thought. She just seemed deep in thought as she spoke."I see our mind as what makes us weak. It's like a cage, keeping us from being who we really are; what we really are. Take away the human mind, Ruvik...and you'll have the true power."
She was completely expressionless. And he was too, but simply because her ranting about her own thoughts didn't concern him. All he wanted to know was if she really was going to get revenge on herself...for being weak.
"I will." She sighed after hearing his thoughts. "I'm going to get my revenge no matter what."
Ruvik reached for the back of his neck.
"We'll see about that."
After calling for [y/n] to wake up one more time, he finally felt her body move in his arms.
"Is she awake?" Marcelo asked surprised. "This is amazing, she was out for such a long time, I thought we were going to lose her."
Ruvik simply ignored him, not bothering to even answer his comment. He looked down at [y/n]'s face as she slowly came to her senses. She breathed in deeply while finally opening her eyes, choking on air as she looked around terrified. But as soon as she looked him in the eyes her brething began to steady, and it looked like everything she had in her mind vanished.
"Mr. Ruvik..." She said in a shaking voice. Ruvik didn't know what was that in her eyes. It looked like a mix of fear and pain.
"Are you feeling ok?" He asked in a low voice, so Marcelo wouldn't listen. "It's normal to feel sick after being connected for so long, we were in STEM for almost five hours."
[y/n] shook her head negatively.
"I'm fine...thanks to you." She whispered the last part, and launched herself forward hugging his torso. "You brought me back."
