Yay, update!
I'm really sorry that I took so long guys, I'm currently editing my 'boyxboy' story, so I had er...confused and confronting feelings and couldn't write anything (at all).
On to the story...

~Ruvik~

The first feeling he got after waking up was the one of relief, followed by thirst and dizziness. He felt weak. Still, his main objective stood the same: wake [y/n] up before she hurt herself, so he unplugged the needle from the back of his head and stumbled toward her. His heart was beating fast and his hands were shaking, he just wasn't sure if it was from anticipation for the girl or from his obvious dehydrated state.

He unwrapped the chair straps before reaching for the girl's face and holding her jaw with a strange and soft touch. This feeling of worry toward others was now strange to him, it had been a long time since he last felt that way, and he couldn't help but grimace at the weight he felt in his stomach. It was like he was falling, and his body was bracing himself for some kind of impact, he thought. But the only thing he felt was that smooth and freezing cold skin against his palm.

Ruvik pulled the needle out with a quick and steady movement and the unconscious body before him jerked up to a sitting position. He sighed in relief, releasing the air he didn't even know he was holding as soon as he heard [y/n] groan and choke on air before finally opening her [e/c] eyes. Her eyes wandered around the laboratory very slowly as she fought to balance her head.

"Ruvik..." She called in a groggy voice, right before finally fixing her gaze on his face. He noticed the pain behind her eyes. The pain of loss. He had seen it before, in his own eyes, after Laura died in the fire. He immediately knew he had lost one of them despite his efforts to make it in time. [y/n] or Freak, one of them had left him, but which one? "She's gone."

He didn't say anything for a moment, just stared at her trying to figure out who was the one talking to him. Her face was expressionless but her voice seemed to carry many confronting emotions; such as grief and relief, somehow. He could also sense lots of anxiety and fear, with the many other things that were practically weeping from her every pore.

"Everything..." He stopped himself. Was everything really going to be ok? How could he know? How could he say that to her if he himself was not sure of what was going to happen? He thought for a moment, if there was one thing he was sure of was that he didn't want to lie to her; he didn't want to and he didn't had to. He didn't know what's going to happen now, but he wanted her to know that he was going to protect her. He was going to take care of her. Ruvik leaned in and pressed his cheek against her head. "Listen, I..."

He felt the girl chuckle "You don't have to say it. I heard you."

He shook his head negatively, slightly annoyed. "That is kind of irritating, [y/n], I wish you would stop that."

"Yeah..." She looked up at him when Ruvik stepped away only sparing her a brief glance before fixing his gaze at the wall behind her like it was the most interesting thing he had ever seen. [y/n] seemed to notice he was slightly uncomfortable and looked over his shoulder as well. She seemed to be thinking about something very hard, Ruvik could almost feel the heat of her brain working so hard. "That would be nice, wouldn't it?" She suddenly mumbled. "I also wish I could."

They stood there in a comfortable silence for almost two minutes, just staring into space – Ruvik knew she would be listening if he started thinking about, well, anything so he tried to focus on being in just complete silence. He failed. He wished there was a way of knowing what she was thinking too, but knew the only way would be her telling him. And he wasn't going to ask.
