Sorry again. I'm late. Forgive me.

~Marcelo~

Just go in there, he internally ordered himself. His hands were shaking uncontrollably in anticipation, and it was for more reasons than one. The simply thought of Ruvik knowing about his deal with that secret corporation named MOBIOUS was enough to leave him terrified since he knew the man had a very short temper and was not the forgiving type, but there was also the curiosity about the girl's ability, and the amazing work their machine had done to her – she was cured!

Marcelo walked to the door slowly, forcing himself to organize his thoughts and to also hide every secret behind newly build barriers of useless memories. It was better take some precautions after the whole incident with the strange girl that read minds, he thought. He didn't want Ruvik to know. He knew the girl would tell him if she found out; not that man would be able to do anything about it, Marcelo just didn't want to complicate things more than necessary. He knew that as soon as Ruvik learned about this, their relationship was going to turn into ashes. Also, Marcelo didn't need the girl to freak out just yet. She was going to have enough time to do that after the doctor's introduction of her to the Administrator; he didn't know the man too well, but was sure a discovery like that would highly interest him. Marcelo had high hopes that the mysterious man would even give him a prize for handing him such an amazing subject.

Well, now to the problems at hand, Marcelo rang the doorbell. He can't know anything. He simply can't know. There's just no way he can learn about this.

"There's someone at the door", you looked up at Ruvik with worried eyes, and he looked back at you with a bit of surprise. The doorbell rang and his eyes widened for an instant before he got up to go open the door. "Please be careful."

You knew who that was and you most certainly knew he was up to no good; hell was Jimenez ever up to something good? You doubted, and the fact that he was trying so hard to hide whatever from Ruvik, and even from you only confirmed this. It also made you feel uneasy. You felt it in your gut that something awful, something big and awful was going to happen soon, and you were afraid you were not going to be able to keep it from happening.

"Don't worry, I'm pretty sure is just Jimenez. He said he would come this week." Ruvik reassured you, but you didn't feel exactly safe receiving a guy that was obviously hiding something important. "You can go up and take a bath. I'll just let him know we're not using STEM today."

You frowned, "I don't trust him...he's hiding something."

Ruvik's lips curled into an entertained smile as he stared at you. "You can trust me then. I'll be fine."

Sure... You weren't going to stop worrying about him just because he wanted you to. After all you had lived until through until now you could easily smell danger a mile away, and the familiar tug at your heart was warning you to not let your guard down. "Just promise you'll stay alert?"

He nodded and walked out of the kitchen. You followed him short behind, but instead of entering the hallway with him you made your way up the stairs. You were going to do as he said; bathe and change your clothes. But was going to keep your mind as clear as you possibly could, to make sure you would hear everything going on around. "I'll help you with your bandages later, so you wait for me" was the last thing you heard him say before finally reaching the second floor.
