I- Innuendos (Or 'How to ruin Alec's day')

Magnus wasn't feeling particularly helpful.

He knew very well that Alec was on the phone to his sister. He also knew that green sweaters made the violet blue of Alec's eyes even bolder, and did wonderful things to his arms.

So when he tackled Alec to the floor, causing the phone to clatter away, the thought on his mind was defiantly not on the sister.

"Alec?" Izzy shrieked down the phone like a banshee on a bad hair day. "What's happened?"

Alec sat up, rubbing his head. "I'm not sure Iz," he said. "But I appear to be on the floor."

"Demons?"

Alec felt his head being pulled backwards by his hair so that he was lying on the carpet again. Chairman Meow was pulling his hair, a menacing glint to his eye (Alec did not trust the cat).

"Uh, Chairman Meow maybe? That or..." He realised his mistake a moment too late.

Izzy gasped audibly. "Magnus? OTP! OTP! OTP!" She chanted.

"I don't even know where he is Iz." Alec groaned. "He vanished the second I hit the ground."

"BOOOO."

"Iz- Ouch!" He sat up again to discover Chairman Meow biting his left big toe. The cat looked up innocently and sidled away as if nothing happened.

Izzy picked up on the sound straight away. "What's happening? Do I want to know?"

"I've been bitten by-"

"Shall I hang up? OTP! I'm hanging up! Bye!" The tone rang out before Alec hung up.

"Magnus!"

The next time Alec saw Izzy she had a wide, 'knowing' smile on her face.

"OTP." She whispered into his ear.

Alec tensed. "If you don't shut up I'm going to... To... Do something." He finished lamely.

"Hey Magnus, what was going on Thursday?" Izzy called over to Magnus who was conversing with Jace.

The warlock barley looked up. "None of your beeswax Isabelle."

Alec flushed. "Iz." He warned. His sister shot him a winning smile.

"Jace, you were there when I was on the phone to Alec on Thursday?" Izzy continued.

Jace looked a bit confused. "Uh, was that when you were shouting OTP in my face?"

"Yes."

"Then yes I was."

Isabelle smiled evilly. "Do you remember that there were loads of strange sounds coming down the phone? Because I do."

Magnus raised an eyebrow that was caked in silver glitter. "And... What? I sent Chairman Meow to bring Alec to me. What's the deal?"

"To bring him to you?" Simon asked, sitting down next to Izzy. "To do what?"

Magnus sighed. "To open letters with him, what do you think idiot?"

Alec went an uncomfortable shade of red. His fingers moved to the wall where they started drumming rhythms and shapes.

"Ew." Jace said.

"What's Ew?" Clary asked, walking into the Institute living room with Jocelyn and Luke on her heels. Jocelyn moved towards the Library door, but Luke awkwardly sat down next to his step-daughter.

"Magnus opening letters." Izzy said quickly.

Clary caught on immediately.

Magnus seemed rather indifferent. "It's not 'Ew'. Most of the time it's fantastic."

"Most." Jace scoffed.

"Well, there's the occasional breakdown or angry rant that appears in the mail. Sometimes the letters are so passionate you don't even remember anything after reading."

Luke still seemed oblivious. "I guess you'd get a lot of letters being the High Warlock of Brooklyn?" He asked.

Izzy and Jace giggled.

"Oh yes," Magnus grinned. "Hundreds. Too many to count. Sometimes I get so many in one day I get so worn out. It's like running a marathon. Those letters sure have stamina. Well, whoever writes them."

Alec was gradually getting redder and redder.

The worst thing was that Luke seemed interested.

He kept quizzing Magnus- how many letters he got, who they were from, were they important or junk...

Eventually Alec had had enough.

He stood abruptly and stormed down the corridor to his room at the Institute. He slammed to door and sat down leaning against it to block anyone coming in.

"Alec-"

"GO AWAY." He yelled at his sister through the door.

After ten minutes he heard Magnus on the other side of the wood.

"Darling, please open the door. What's wrong?" His boyfriend begged.

Alec stayed silent.

"Alec. Alexander. Please. There's no one else with me." The door opened a crack, just enough for Magnus to squeeze through. "What's wrong darling?"

"What's wrong?" Alec sounded incredulous. "You were there! You were just discussing our, our sex life like it was nothing! In front of my sister, brother and Luke! Why? Why would you do that?"

Magnus rocked back on his heels. "I didn't think you'd be upset by it Alec. I didn't think at all, I'm sorry." He waited. "So...?"

"So what?"

"Ugh." Magnus groaned. He took a sudden step forwards and kissed Alec passionately.

Alec flailed backwards for a second, overwhelmed with the passion of the kiss. He knees gave.

"Alec, are you okay?" Magnus asked, catching him.

"You can't go around kissing people and taking their breaths away," Alec gasped. "It's not polite."

Magnus grinned, looking more like a cat than ever. "Lucky I'm ever going to just be kissing you then. Let's get back and open some letters, yeah?"
