Nikolina had now lived with Peter and May for about a week, and today she was going to school. She was afraid. Afraid of what people would say of her. Everyone knew of Wanda Maximoff, and they also knew of Nikolina. She was also worried because she didn't talk like everyone else, she had an accent, and spoke almost un-American like.

Nikolina got out of bed, and put on clothes. That was another thing, she had no idea what to wear. She decided on being like herself, so she wore a black skater skirt and black knee socks. Along with that she wore a cute, light pink t-shirt, with three feathers on it, which she tucked into the skirt, and a regular black zip-up hoodie. She pulled on her combat boots - the ones she always wore for missions - and exited her room, heading for the kitchen.

"Wow, dear, you look fantastic." May smiled at the girl who sat down on a bar stool by the counter, next to Peter. Nikolina scoffed, but smiled through it, she hadn't even put on makeup or brushed her hair. "Okay, what would you like for breakfast today?"

May usually didn't make breakfast for Peter or Nikolina, but it was Nikolina's first day of school, and she wanted to relieve her of something. Even if it was something so simple as making breakfast.

"Just a toast, please." Nikolina smiled. May nodded, and made a toast for the girl, who quickly ate it.

After she was finished, she headed to the bathroom to brush her teeth. After that, she went back to her room and ran a hairbrush through her dark hair, leaving it in its natural waves. Then she applied some simple makeup. She wasn't good with makeup, so she kept it at her level. Just the basics, topped off with a coat of mascara.

Nikolina smiled at herself in the mirror, reassuring herself that everything would go fine. Wether she believed it or not, was beyond her own knowledge, but it made her calm down slightly.

She headed back out the door, and bumped into Peter, who was about to knock on her door to tell her that they needed to go. They headed out the door and to the station. The train came just as they arrived and they got on, and got back off on the right station.

Nikolina followed Peter up to the main entrance, stopping right before they entered. She took a deep breath.

"Are you okay?" Peter asked her, to which she replied with a simple nod. But the look on her face said differently. Peter reached down and discretely laced his fingers with hers. She looked down at their intertwined hands and smiled softly.

Peter pulled away from her and pushed the doors open, and the two walked inside. She got looks when she walked down the hallway, and people whispered things about her to their friends.

"Don't care about them." Peter whispered to her. She slowly nodded.

"Ah, Miss Maximoff! There you are." A man spoke from behind Nikolina. She stopped and turned to look at the tall, African American man in front of her. "It's Nikolina Maximoff, right?"

She nodded at him.

"All right, Miss Maximoff. Walk with me." The man ordered, placing his hand on her lower back and guiding her to his office, Peter following them. "Oh, Mr Parker, there's no need for you here. You have History, don't you?"

"But, I--"

"No buts, Mr Parker." The man shooed him away and Peter walked out of the office slowly. "Now, Miss Maximoff. Let's see here... same age as Mr Parker, yes?"

Nikolina nodded again.

"So, you two are friends? More than that?" He asked.

"Oh, no. Just friends." Nikolina clarified.

"Okay, well I've arranged for you to have most classes with him, just to make things easier for you." The man smiled. She nodded again. "Okay, here is everything you're going to need. Have fun!"

He slid a few papers to her, and she picked them up. There was her schedule, her locker number and combination, along with a map of the school. She smiled and walked out of the room, just to realize that she had no idea where the History classroom was.

She aimlessly walked around the corridor, looking down at the map. She bumped into someone, and fell on her butt.

"Oh my god, I am so, so sorry. I always manage to do this. Make fun of myself in front of people." The boy stressed, and Nikolina looked up at him. He had black hair, which was done up in a hairdo. He had a strange combination of color in his eyes. He offered her a hand, which she gladly took. "I'm Tyler."

"Nikolina."

"Are you lost?" He asked her. He knew that she was new, he would have remembered such a pretty girl.

"Yeah..." Nikolina admitted, pulling at the hem of her skirt.

"Where do you need to go?" He asked her, picking up the map by her feet and handing it to her.

"History." She replied.

"I have history, too. Let's go together." Tyler said, leading her to history. She knocked on the door and a short, chubby man opened the door.

"You must be Nikolina. Tyler, late again?" The teacher asked Tyler as he tried to slip in from behind Nikolina. "Everyone, we have a new student, Nikolina Maximoff. Do your best to make her feel welcome. You can sit next to Mr Parker."

Nikolina sat down next to Peter, smiling at him. He smiled back. The teacher taught them about American history. Nikolina didn't understand what he was talking about, she was only familiar with Sokovian history.

"Miss Maximoff, do you know the answer?" The teacher asked Nikolina, pointing to the question on the board. She read the question, not understanding it nor knowing the answer. When she shook her head, people laughed. She looked to the side, seeing all the people laughing at her. (Gif)

She placed her hand on her forehead, letting the other one drop down. She felt a light squeeze on her hand and looked down, seeing Peter holding it.

"Ooh, Peter is in looove!" A girl called out, dragging out the o. Peter rolled his eyes and Nikolina pulled away from him. She knew that people weren't the kindest to Peter, especially not the popular kids. And she didn't want people to treat Peter worse due to him holding hands and such with her.

A/N
Okay, first of all I'm so sorry for not updating this in forever. Truly. And second of all I'm gonna continue not to update. I think I might put this on hold until Homecoming comes out, mainly so I can get a view of what Peter's everyday life is like.

There was a question about if Nikolina would have more missions with the Avengers and I'm not sure. Maybe I'll write her into Infinity War when that comes out (unless it's too much ofc.) But what I can say is that she's going to have missions etc. with Peter aka Spiderman. Which, again, is why I'm putting this on hold until Homecoming comes out.
