Chapter 49

Nicki POV

We were currently sitting at the table eating. Meek had Amayiah on his shoulder rocking her as I smiled. Wow I miss him being home with me and being around his daughter. "My god baby so cute" Candi says as I smiled. "Yes she gets it from her mommy" I say as meek smacked his teeth. "Thanks Candi she gets it from her dad" he says as I shook my head. I then got up making an announcement. "Excuse me everybody I would like to say thank you so much for coming out. Meek and I are so thankful to have such wonderful people in Amayiah's life. I soon will be leaving but continue to enjoy y'all selves. Me and my baby are going to go get some rest because I am tired. Again thank you all so much for....." I say looking over at the door opening revealing my mother. Everyone became silent as she made her way over to me. "Hey sweetie can I see the mic for a moment" she asks as I mugged her handing her the mic. I looked over at Candi mouthing what is she doing here as she smiled sticking the straw in her mouth drinking her drink ignoring me. I knew she had to behind this. Meek then looked at me holding Amayiah mouthing was I good and I nodded my head yes focusing my attention back to my mother.

"Onika baby I am so sorry for how I treated you in the past. I'm sorry for lying to you and choosing drugs over raising my child. You nor your dad were a problem it was me and my addiction to drugs. I used you liking girls and your dad working late as an excuse to do stupid things. Your dad divorced me because of my stupid choices and now he has a new family which was all my fault because he wasn't in your life as much as he needed to be. Meek I hope you stay in both my baby and grand daughter's life because they need you and are going to need you. I came here today because I was invited and I wasn't planing on coming because I'm already hated and thought I'd felt unwelcomed but it was eating me up inside if I didn't come and see you and lay everything on the table even if that means telling the god honest truth in front of all these people. I know it's going to take time for you or anyone else I have hurt time to forgive me, and I understand that but if you would just give me a chance and let me back into your lives I can show you I'm changed." She says as tears of hurt escaped my eyes. I didn't know what to say or what to do or whether or not I should hate her or forgive her but at this moment all I wanted from her was for her to leave.

"Onika baby, say something sweetie. If you want me to leave then I'll leave because I totally understand she says looking me in the eyes. I was so stressed and light headed that I spoke from my mind and not my heart. "Leave" I simply say as she nodded her head leaving but Candi stopped her. I rolled my eyes going to sit down next to meek as he talked to me calming me down. "Look while she's still here I think you should go over there and at least make compromise with her. You can always forgive but never forget. Forgive and move forward baby." He says as I nodded my head walking over to them feeling light headed again. "Candi can you give us a moment please?" I ask as she nodded stepping aside. "Look I just want to say I forgive you but I'll never forget. I also realized how Amayiah is going to need her grandmother in her life as well so I'm willing to putting all this aside and start over." I say as huge smile appeared on her face. "So do you forgive me" she says as I became dizzy stumbling. "ONIKA" was the last thing I heard before everything went black.
