I felt weird leaving Mavis home alone tonight. I always feel a little uneasy leaving her alone, but after last night's episode it just feels wrong. I wouldn't have left her alone, but she insisted I go. She doesn't want to hinder my social life. Whatever makes her happy I guess. So here I am, sitting in Sean's driveway, wondering if I should return home or not. But that would upset Mavis, so I go inside.
"Sean, I'm here." I yell as I walk into Sean's house.
"Hey babe," Sean says as he walks out of the living room,"how was your day?"
"It was fine, Mavis wouldn't come out of her room, but that's pretty common lately."
"She'll come it when she's ready. Let's not dwell on that. Indeed, how about we do something extremely fun. Probably the most fun you'll ever have." Sean offers.
"The more exciting it gets, the more tentative I feel," I reply flatly, "what does you're mom need done now?"
"Okay you got me. She needs me to wash her car."
"Is this just an excuse to see me in my swimsuit?" I ask suspiciously.
"No. Did you bring your swimsuit?" Sean asks curiously.
"No."
"Then my plan wouldn't have worked anyway. Not that that was my plan, my mom really just needs her car washed. She's a real estate agent and her clients always see her car. She has to keep it clean and she didn't have time to take it to the car wash today. So, we're driving it through for her." He explains.
"Oh. Well. When you said wash I didn't realize you meant take it through the car wash. You really made it sound like you had to do it in your own."
"I don't really think I made it sound like that at all. I think you took it that way cause you wanted to wear your swimsuit in front of me." Sean insists.
"Yeah whatever. I don't even own a swimsuit anyway."
"You don't own a swimsuit? How do you go swimming?" He asks in shock.
"I don't go swimming. I haven't since Mavis broke down at college. She was the only one who ever took me swimming." I explain.
"That's just sad. A real tragedy. We'll have to go swimming together sometime."
"Yeah if you want to." I agree.
"Then it's a date. So you ready to go to the car wash?!Do you want to grab something to eat first?" Sean asks.
"There's a Taco Bell on the way, do you want to drive through there?" I offer.
"Yeah that sounds good. Let's head out."
Sean and I walk to the garage and go to get in the car. Sean opens the door for me, which I didn't expect. He's always a gentleman, one would think I'd be used to it by now, but I still get surprised every time.
"So what's your favorite part of the car wash?" Sean asks me as he slides into the passenger seat.
"My favorite part of the car wash? I can't say I have one. I don't go to the car wash often." I answer.
"Oh. Well you'll have to pay attention while we go through so you can decide."
"Sounds good. What do you want from Taco Bell?"
