I stood in front of my mirror inspecting my dress. Do I actually look good in it? Do I look fat? Well I guess it's too late now because I the dance starts in half an hour and I still haven't even done my hair and make up.

I sat in front of my mirror and fluffed my hair, deciding on what to do with it. I decided to curl it and put my favorite flower head piece on. I may look like a hippie but honestly, who cares?

Now that my hair is finished and perfected, it's time to move onto my make up. I put some mascara and eye liner on. It brings out my green eyes. I put a little bit of powder foundation on and I put some lip gloss on.

I'm not a big fan of lip stick. Somehow, it manages to get on your teeth and then it's awkward when people point it out to you.

Anyway, we're getting off topic. I stood up and walked over to my wardrobe, pulling out my light blue flats. I'm not much of a high heel girl. I prefer flats because they are more comfortable.

I walked over and stood in front of my wall lenght mirror. I looked at my reflection. I had to do a double take to make sure it was me because I look so different. More grown up actually.

I heard my phone vibrate on my desk. I strolled over and took it off charge.

'From Teesh;

Tonights the big night! Don't forget to enjoy yourself, okay Britt? xx.'

I smiled to myself. Gosh I love this girl.

'To Teesh;

Okay, I promise to enjoy myself. See you soon! xx.'

I put my phone in a small side bag and stood back in front of the mirror. I heard a knock at the door.

"Come in!" I called out and twirled around.

I saw Trent pop in his head in and then I saw his whole body. "Wow Britt! You look stunning" Trent smiled.

I slapped his arm and smiled, "Thanks Trenty".

"I can't believe my little annoying sister is growing up" he said as he wiped a fake tear away.

"I may be growing up, but I'll still always be your annoying sister" I smiled and pulled him in for a hug.

"I know, I know" he said. We pulled away and he smiled, "Dad would be so proud of you".

I smiled at the thought of hearing 'Dad'. I miss him like crazy and I really wish he was here. But I'm so glad that I have Trent, because I know he'll always be there to look out for me.

"Thank you" I smiled, "I hope he is".

Trent smiled, "So are you ready to go?" he asked changing the subject.

"Yes I am. I just need to check one more time that I look okay" I said turning around and walking over to the mirror for the hundredth time tonight.

Trent shook his head, "You look fine Britt. Now let's go!".

I laughed and followed him out the door and we walked downstairs. I said a brief goodbye to mum and soon enough we were on our way to school.

I looked out the window nervously and watched as the sun slowly settled in the distance, showering the whole sky in a orange-red colour. It looks so beautiful.

Soon enough, we pulled up in the school parking lot. I could already hear the music pumping and I could see all the couples walking in together.

"Now Britt, you know the rules about behaving" Trent said sternly.
