clarke didnt want to waste any time getting to the crash site to see what happened, so her, bellamy, finn, raven, and a few others headed off to it. kodie insisted on going, but clarke said she should hang back at camp and try to stay off her foot for just one more day. kodie clearly thought the blonde was being stupid.

all day kodie stayed off her foot and decided to fix up a few more rounds of bullets. when dark fell she gave up staying off her foot and started walking on it again. she wasn't limping anymore and like before, there was no pain. as she made her way out of the tent she noticed octavia sitting alone by a hole in the wall.

a sigh leaves her lips as she sits next to the girl. "hey."

"you see that flower?" she points over to a follower that was in a tree.

kodie nods, "yeah, what about it?"

octavia looks over at kodie and smiles small. "it's from lincoln. these are the flowers he always leaves for me to find him."

monty walked over, sitting on the other side of kodie. "hey, no sign of clarke, bellamy, or the others yet."

octavia rolls her eyes at him. her whole mood changed as she responds. "hey, i don't care."

"are you still seriously pissed about what happened on the bridge?" kodie frowns.

the story was that clarke talked with the grounder's leader, but there were grounders in the trees that were supposedly about to attack, so jasper called them out and the three sky people that had guns started shooting and the grounders shot their arrows.

"yes," octavia glances at her. "i'm still pissed. this deal could've worked if jasper didn't freak out."

kodie bites her bottom lip before looking off at jasper who was gloating about his kills. "if jasper didn't freak out, we'd all be dead."

"jasper!" harper skipped over to stand next to the goggle boy as he stood in front of a fire. "tell us again how you stayed so calm." she smiles. "i would've been terrified."

jasper smirks, "fear is only a problem if you let it stop you, right?"

octavia scoffs, "that's not even his line."

kodie nods in agreement. "yeah, that's finn's line."

jasper continued to speak to the group of people around the fire while octavia, kodie, and monty sat aside by the wall and listened. "i saw the grounders in the trees. it was like nothing i ever felt. you know, pure animal instinct took over. one pull of the trigger, two grounders dead."

"'pure animal instinct'?" octavia shakes her head. "more like pure pants-wetting panic."

kodie playfully rolled her eyes at the girl before turning back to listen to jasper. "you don't really know what you're made of until a moment like that, you know, when it's kill or be killed and there's just nothing between you and the tip of a spear."

octavia huffs, standing up. "okay, this has to stop."

monty quickly reaches over kodie and grabs octavia's wrist. "come on, let us have this."

kodie rose an eyebrow, "us?"

"look at him." monty shrugs. "the boy is a folk hero. they even gave us a bigger tent."

"well then," kodie smiles. "i'll be moving into your tent."

a bunch of clattering noise caught everyone's attention and the obnoxious voice of connor that kodie had grown to hate shouted, "someone hit the trip wire!" there was a bunch of commotion and people shouting before gunshots were fired.
