the blue eyed brunette woke suddenly at the sound of a gunshot. she quickly sat up and looked at her surroundings, realising she was in bellamy's tent, but he was nowhere to be found. she exited the tent and noticed everyone heading towards the gate, so she ducked by one of the foxholes and made her way out of the camp, standing in the back as she witnessed bellamy shouting at a kid.

"that bullet was one less dead grounder!" he shouted angrily.

"bell," octavia spoke up. "you're scaring people."

bellamy turned to his sister. "they should be scared!" he turned to face his audience. "the bomb on the bridge bought us some time to prepare, but that time is up! the grounders are out there right now, waiting for us to leave and picking us off one by one when we do!" he paused to take a breath. "clarke, finn and monty are gone, probably dead, and if you want to be next, i can't stop you, but no guns are leaving this camp! this camp is the only thing keeping us alive!" everyone stood around in silence and kodie sunk back into the trees when bellamy yelled "get back to work!".

kodie ran in the opposite direction of camp. if bellamy didn't want to go find clarke, finn and monty then she'd do it on her own. as she rushed through the woods she stopped only twice to catch her breath. when the sun started to rise she made her way towards a section of the woods closer to camp.

the sound of splashing water caught her attention and she slowed down, walking slowly towards the noise. a low voice made kodie freeze and she peeked around a tree to see finn and clarke kneeling by a large puddle of water.

"finn." kodie made herself visible and the two stood up.

"kodie." finn hugged the girl tightly and once he pulled away kodie immediately pulled clarke in for a hug, which startled clarke because she thought the brunette hated her.

"i'm glad you guys are okay." kodie says.

"yeah, we—" an explosion went off, cutting finn off. "it came from the camp."

clarke shook her head, "we're too late."

the three of them rushed back to camp and once they were in seeing eye kodie heard miller tell everyone to hold their fire. "it's finn, clarke and kodie! open the gate!"

the gate was opened and as kodie slowed to a walk finn and clarke rushed in. "we heard an explosion." clarke stated. "what happened?"

kodie walked inside the wall and bellamy glared at her. "her boyfriend happened."

"thank god." jasper rushed over and hugged clarke. "where have you been? where's monty?"

"monty's gone?" clarke furrows her eyebrows.

"we need to leave now." finn spoke. "all of us do. there's an army of grounders, unlike anything we've ever seen, coming for us right now. we need to pack what we can and get out of here."

"like hell we do." bellamy scoffed. "we knew this was coming."

"bell, we're not prepared." octavia stated.

bellamy retorts, "and they're not here yet. we still have time to get ready. besides, where would we go? where would be safer than behind these walls?"
