Later that night, Luke and I snuggled on the couch while watching a TV show.

Alissa was on the floor, playing with her dolls while Stefan was doing the same but playing with his new dragon toys we got him, so they didn't pay much attention to it. Nyla was laying down at the foot of our couch. I assumed she was sleeping, because she was barely moving along with her soft breathing I could hear.

I lovingly sighed, resting my head on his chest and listening to his steady heartbeat as he wrapped his arm around me and pulling the blanket over us.

I had always found Luke's heartbeat calming and a source for comfort with everything that had happened. I found it a resting place if I wanted to erase the world. Now, it simply meant peace. I was at peace. In the past three years, it's more peace I've felt ever since I first got pregnant. Nothing bad had happened to any of us.

There was no sign of Peter, Chad, or Maya, anywhere. They were locked up, for good this time.

I never wanted that feeling of peace to leave, especially since I had two small children now.

"You know...Luke," I started off.

"What?" He asked, looking down at me.

"I never imagined my life to be like this," I admitted, "I never expected to get pregnant, twice, or live in an apartment, with you."

"I never imagined my life to be like this, but I'm glad it did, because I love my life," Luke replied, "I have everything I need. I have two beautiful children and a great dog. I have a beautiful home. I have an amazing husband."

"Aren't you the cutest," I teased, squeezing Luke's cheek.

Luke lightly laughed.

"I'm serious though. I love Stefan and Alissa. I love Nyla. I love our tiny apartment."

Luke paused.

"And I love you."

I looked up at him with a smirk.

"Cheesy," I told him.

"Like cheese pizza," he agreed.

I rolled my eyes then laughed.

"You're a dork."

"But I'm your dork."

"In all seriousness, and honesty Luke, this is what I hoped for since I started crushing on you."

Luke laughed.

"I remember that. Let's reminiscence those times."

I scoffed.

"Let's not."

"Oh come on Cal. You have to admit...it was kind of cute and adorable," Luke teased.

"It wasn't cute and adorable...it was creepy and obsessive. I literally had a plan to get rid of Maya so I could be with you," I told Luke.

Luke laughed again.

"I still think that's cute and adorable."

I rolled my eyes then smiled. I made myself more comfortable on Luke's chest.

"You want to know who's cute and adorable?" Luke then asked.

I looked up at him and raised an eyebrow.

"Me?" I asked.

"Of course."

Luke leaned in and connected our lips. I quickly kissed back, still having the burning desire to feel his lips on mine. We kissed faster, wanting more of each other.
