We found Maria in the same spot I had left her. She seemed like she loosened up a bit because they both were laughing hysterically about something.
"Hey yall," I said smiling. I was happy to see that somebody here was having a good time.
"Hey Anya you see that woman! That woman right!"
I nodded for her to keep going but instead she busted out laughing all over again. Whatever it is they were laughing at had to extra funny because she couldn't even get anything out. She began pointing out in the crowd so I tried to follow her finger to whoever she was pointing at. Failing miserably I almost gave up until I spotted what I thought was a familiar face. Whoever it was had the same blonde hair, the same frame, the same.... I began to squint my eyes a little to see if I was seeing correctly. No, that can't be him. I shrugged off the thought and looked at Maria and Marcus. they both seemed to calm down a lot so I decided to asked Marcus for a ride.
"Um Marcus? I know we just met and all but our ride sort of left us so would you mind taking us to get our cars?"
"Yeah that's cool," he said wrapping his arm around Maria. I smiled. Leaving them two a long was a good thing.
"Thanks," I said.
"No problem. You ladies ready to go?"
"Yeah...um, should I drive? Both of yall look drunk as hell and I'm not getting in the car with no drunk driver," I said looking over at their glasses. They had to be drunk laughing hsyterically like they were.
"No that's okay, I'm not drunk. I can drive you ladies."
He attempted to to get up out of his stool but failed miserably almost falling to the floor. Maria began to laugh loudly again while Jaylah giggled shyly beside me covering up her mouth.
"Oh nah, see you need to give me your keys. You are not driving us home like that."
He sighed and gave me his keys. "Man you sound just like my mama," she said shaking his head at me.
I smiled taking the keys away from him. "Lets go."
We got up and walked to the entrance. By this time the club was way beyond crowded so it felt like took us several minutes to even see where the door was at. Jaylah walked so closely behind me that she kept stepping on the back of my feet. It was really getting irritating but I tried to ignore it considering the crowd surrounding us. We finally made it out and it wasn't ling until then I realized that I didn't even know what kind of car he drove. I turned around to ask him but didn't see him or Maria anywhere.
"Hey Jaylah? Where's Maria and Marcus?"
She looked behind her then to her left and her right and then shrugged. "I don't know, they were just behind me."
I sighed and pinched the top of my nose. Tonight has been more stressful then fun.
"Great, now we have to sit here and wait for them." I set down on the edge of the sidewalk and rested my head on my knees. I could not wait to get home and sleep. I heard someone sit beside me but didn't bother to look up knowing it was Jaylah.
"Are you okay? You know with everything that's happened tonight?" Jaylah asked softly.
I lifted my head and looked her direction. "Not really...but I will be."
She lifted her hands and rubbed my back comfortably. "I'm sorry," she said, "I don't know why she is that way sometimes. It's really sad to see her treat you that way especially since you're her sister. I mean what the heck is wrong with her? Why would she even think..."
"It's okay Jaylah. Don't worry about it." I had to cut that girl off. That rambling was not helping me any. She sure picks the wrong times to actually wanna talk. She looked away sadly.
"No seriously, it's okay Jaylah," I said reassuring her that it really was alright. "I really appreciated you though."
She smiled and nodded. Then all of the sudden her mouth dropped and her eyes widened. What in the world is wrong with this girl? I turned around to see what the deal was and it wasn't before long I seen what caught her attention. Maria and Marcus was running out of an alley while fixing their clothing and laughing. Did they seriously just have a quickie in this run down place? And they think it's funny?
"What in the world?!" I said while standing up and catching their attention. They both looked my way, smiles still on their face.
"Did yall seriously just have a quickie? In the alley of all places?" I said giving them a disapproving look and then looking at the disgusting alley.
"Do your friend always act like she's somebody mama?" Marcus whispered loudly to Maria.
"I don't know, I just met her," she whispered back.
He nodded as if her answer was sufficient. 'WOW" I thought to myself.
"Um where's your car?" I asked Marcus.
"Oh yeah, follow me," he said. He led the way through the parking lock to his car.
"Where's your sister and yall other friend?" Maria asked confused. Did she really just notice that they weren't here? Why did she think we asked for a ride?
"Her sister left us..." Jaylah said speaking up.
"Wow," Maria mumbled. Marcus had a hard time remembering where he parked so it took us a few minutes find it. By the time we did I was more then aggravated. I did not want to be here too much longer. I got in the driver's seat and Jaylah got in the passenger seat while Marcus and Maria sat in the back. The ride to Shalonda's house was silent aside from the giggles coming from Maria in the back. when we got to Shalonda's house I was so happy. It didn't take long to get home from there. I pulled on the curb and shut off the car.
"Okay love birds, we're here," I said turning around to face Maria and Marcus in the back and man what did I do that for? They were basically devouring each other's face, something I did not want to see. You can call me jealous all you want but you would be too if you weren't getting none.
I cleared my throat recieving a groan from Marcus. I'm starting to think he doesn't like me much and the thought somehow made me smile. I was going to enjoy messing with him.
"Yall ready?"
"Yes ma'am," he said putting the emphases on the word "ma'am". They reluctantly got out the car and Marcus turned my way as if expecting further instruction. I smirked at him, I definitely did.
"So how are yall getting home? You know neither one of you can drive."
"Is she serious??!" Marcus said throwing his head back.
"Yuppp," I said popping the 'p'.
"They can stay at my place until the morning. I'm right up the street," suggested Jaylah.
"That's cool," Maria said quickly before Marcus could say anything.
"Fine," he said, "Thanks."
"You're welcome," she said smiling. We waved our goodbyes and I got in my car. Thank God I was finally on my way home. It took me around 10 minutes to get home and let me tell you, they were the longest 10 minutes EVER! I pulled into the driveway and turned the car off. I lend my head back on my head rest and just sat for a few minutes thinking about tonight. Shalonda's words stayed heavily on my mind. I closed my eyes and let the tears flow down my face. I really don't have to put up with her mess, sister or not. I let her get away with too much before I never want to be the one to hurt her. But all that was about to change because I wasn't having none of it anymore. I got out the car and made my way up the driveway, exhaustion slowly taking over my body. I unlocked the door and walked in closing it and locking it behind me. I walked into my bedroom getting ready for bed. I turned on the light and nearly had a heart attack. Lying on my bed was the same familiar face I thought I had seen earlier. He laid there, his arms comfortably sitting under head. His gray eyes pierced into mine as the smirk on his face began to grow wider. He sat up in the bed and threw his legs over the side.
"Hello Anya," he said in his smooth but chilling voice.
"Charles?"
