"And you invited her here?" Shalonda asked.

"Yes. I hope you don't mind. She doesn't have any friends here yet," I said knowing she would mind. I invited Maria to hang out with us tonight since we didn't do anything last night. She called earlier this morning and we talked for hours. She didn't tell me what was going on last night but I didn't push her on it. Whenever she felt the need to talk about, she would. She seemed real cool though so I figured my girls would like her too.

"Um yeah I kind of mind. I mean I know nothing about this girl and you invite her to my house? We should of met up at your place. You're the only one who knows something about her," came her smart reply. Seriously her attitude was kind of getting on my nerves. I mentally rolled my eyes and looked over at Jaylah, who may have just didn't wanna speak up, then at Zina, who apparantly was on Shalonda's side... as usual. I felt defeated.

"Okay, I was out of place. Sorry," I said.

Shalonda sighed.

"It's fine," she said, "I mean if you say she's cool then we can give her a chance. But don't invite random to my house understand?" she said sternly.

"Yes ma'am," I said laughing at the fact she tried to treat me like I was her child.

She gave me a blank stare before rolling her eyes and smiling at me.

The doorbell rung.

"I'll get it!" I jumped up beating Shalonda to the door. I knew if she was giving me a hard time for inviting Maria here she would definitely give Maria a hard time just because she can. I walked into the living room and made my way to the front door opening it to find a nervous Maria. Once she seen my face she smiled, a look of relief clearly shown on her face.

"I'm so glad you opened the door," she said.

"What? You scared or something?" I asked laughing at her.

"Of course not," she said laughing right along with me.

We made our way back towards the den. We walked in on Shalonda and her husband, Trevor, cuddling on the couch. I looked away uncomfortably waiting for them to be done. Maria gave me a questioning look but I shrugged it off.

"Um we are still in here!" Zina stated smirking a little. Shalonda grinned slightly before turning her attention to us.

"So is this Maria?"

I nodded and snuck a glance at Trevor. He looked so handsome in his baby blue Polo shirt. It went perfectly with his chocolate brown skin. His dark brown eyes caught my gaze and for a minute I thought I couldn't look away. There was no way I could have feelings for this man, I mean he's married to my sister!

"Anya?"

I snapped my attention back to Shalonda. Had she noticed that I was looking at Trevor? I couldn't have been looking that hard.

"You alright? It looked like you kinda just blacked out or something," Shalonda said giving me a questioning look.

"Oh, no. I'm sorry... um... yall this is Maria. Maria this is Zina, Jaylah, Shalonda, and her husband Trevor," I said while pointing to each person as I introduced them. They all said hey... well except Trevor. I could still feel his eyes on me and I must admit, I was getting a little uncomfortable.

"So are yall ready to go?" I asked trying to find any reason to leave as soon as possible.

"Yeah," they all said in unison. I watched as Shalonda leaned over to give Trevor a kiss good-bye. I turned linking my arm in between Maria's dragging her behind me. Like I said I was ready to go.

"What was that all about?" Maria asked as soon as we made it outside. The other girls were still in the house, so we were the only ones out at the time.

"What are you talking about?" I asked playing dumb. I really didn't feel like talking about it at the moment.

"You know what I'm talking about!" she whisper shouted, "The way you were staring at your sister's husband," she said putting the emphasis in the word 'sister's'.

I sighed deeply. "Girl, it's a long story."

She nodded in understanding as the girls came outside.

"I call shot gun!" Zina shouted referring to the passenger seat. I laughed. She sounded so much like a child just now. I caught Shalonda's gaze out the side of my eye. I thought I seen her glaring at me but I shrugged it off and hopped in the back with Maria right behind me. Jaylah got in on the other side while Shalonda hopped in the drivers seat.

"Where are we going again?" Jaylah asked shyly. Seriously, you would think the girl would be wild (at least around us) as long as she's known us but, strangely enough, we didn't quite rub off on her yet.

Shalonda and Zina looked at each other and then both shouted "Platinum!" together. The girls seriously had issues. Maria laughed. Club Platinum here we come!
