“Anya? Are you awake?” I faintly heard Trevor calling me.

I was definitely not a morning person but I knew I was going to have to get up soon before his parents found out I was here.

“Yes, I’m up,” I said with sleep still in my voice.

Smiling, he gently kissed me on the lips. I smiled into his lips. I could never get enough of his kisses.

“You have to go now. My parents will be up at any moment,” he said after breaking the kiss.

I frowned. “I know,” I said quietly getting up out of bed. Grabbing my arm, Trevor turned me around to face him.

“Are you going to be okay?” he asked gently touching the cheek my mama slapped me in.

Flinching, I nodded. I’m pretty sure my face was bruising by now. It was really sore.

“Are you still going to school?”

“I don’t know yet,” I said. I was still unsure about going because I know the bruises on my face will give people reason to gossip about me. Not that I was always talked about in school but I just didn’t want to give anybody a reason to start now.

“I’ll try to see you later though, okay?” I said.

“Okay,” he said nodding. He gave me a peck on the lips before letting me grab my things and go. I slowly climbed out his window and went around the side of the house. Peeking out in the front yard, I had to make sure that his parents weren’t already outside before I made my way to the street. Seeing the coast was clear I began to walk out into the drive way. Just when I thought I was going to make it I heard the front door open. I quickly ran to the side of the car my heart nearly beating out of my chest. I seen his mama walking out the door towards the car and I soon realized that hiding behind the car was a stupid move. I should have ran back to the side of the house.

“Where are my keys?” I heard her ask herself.

‘Please say she left them in the house! Please say she left them in the house!’ I thought to myself.

“Shoot! I’m gonna be late!” I heard her say to herself. I heard her footsteps go toward the house followed by the sound of the front door opening and closing back. Sending a quick prayer up to the one above, I quickly made my way out of the driveway and to the sidewalk. Jogging a little bit I thought about where I was going next. I didn’t have many friends' houses around here besides Jaylah but I didn’t want to go to her parents for help. They probably would take all the information I share with them back to my mama and I did not need the extra trouble right now. I decided to walk to Mr. Harper’s corner store. I knew he would help me since he’s always there for me. I heard a car slowly pull up beside me. My heart began to race. I began to walk faster. I didn’t wanna turn around afraid that the familiar sound of the car belonged to the person I thought it did.

“Well, well, well. I’ve been looking for you all night missy.”

My heart stopped in my chest and for a few seconds I was hoping that it was permanent. I really did not wanna face this man again. Pulling up faster, he stopped the car and got out. When I had the chance I took off running as fast as I could. Hoping I was faster than him wasn’t enough because he caught with me within seconds.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Charles asked chuckling a little.

“Please let me go!” I yelled. Where were all the noisy people when you needed them? Dragging me into a nearby alley, he threw me against the wall leaning his body against mine. His manhood was hard against my thighs. I really needed him to back up off of me.
