. . . Present Time. . .

I sat quickly upright in my bed, sweat rolling from my forehead. I couldn't believe the dream that I've just had. Reliving bad memories from the past was no fun. Soeaking of the past, I remembered my encounter with Charles. It frightened me that I found him in my bedroom. I mean how in the world did he even get in here in the first place?

I looked to my left at the spot he was laying and noticed he wasn't there. A sigh of relief excaped my lips and I felt a smile play on my lips until my eyes reached the end of the bed. There laid a sheet of paper that I was almost positive was from Charles.

I hesistated about reading it but was curious at the same time. Grabbing the note, I slowly opened it to find his handwriting on it.

"I'm going to see your mama, I'll be back in a few days."

I crumbled the note up and threw it away in disgust. I be damned if I be here when he gets back. I got up and grabbed the phone to call Shalonda and let her know what's going on. Remembering what happened last night almost made me change my mind but she's still my sister and I care about her so I chose to call anyways. I looked at the clock and it read 9:45. Dang, I know she gone be mad at me for calling this early but she'll get over it hopefully. After three rings she picked up in an aggravated tone.

"Ugh Anya! You know I don't like being up this early! Especially after spending all night at the club! What do you want?"

"Well goodmorning to you too," I said in a sarcastic tone while rolling my eyes.

"What do you want Anya?" she repeated.

I took a deep breath. I was not amused by her attitude at all. "Um, can you check on mama today?" I fianally said.

She snorted. "That's it? And you couldn't wait til the afternoon to call me? Are you trying to piss me off...again?"

"Um no? If I didn't think it was important then I wouldn't of called you. Trust me, you're the last person I want to right now and I would do it myself but you how things are between me and mama."

"And what's that's supposed to mean???"

"Please Shalonda, you know exactly what that means. Don't play stupid with me."

She sighed heavily and then replied, "Fine, I'll spend the day with her to see if she's alright but do not call my house again do you understand me?"

"That's fine with me," I hung the phone before she could reply. I've been trying to get back on that girl's good side for the longest but nothing ever works. And to be honest, I'm not even sure why I'm even on Shalonda's bad side. It was really frustrating me.

I heard the doorbell ring, interupting me from my thoughts.

Oh God please don't let it be Charles. I queitly walked up to the door and peeked out the side window discreetly. I was suprised by who I seen. There stood Trevor, in a dark suit, standing at my front door. What was he doing here? I opened the door, a look of surprise still on my face. He looked nervous as if he didn't know what to say.

"What are you doing here?" I repeated my question from my thoughts.

"Uh, I guess I'm here to appologize."

"About?" I asked trying to get him to just come out with what he was saying.

"Can he come in?"

"Does Shalonda know you're here?"

"No," he replied simply.

"Then no," I said giving him the same answer he gave me.

"Look I'm really sorry about her and how she treated you yesterday. She was out of place."
