Walking home was really awkward. George had his earphones in, looking down at his phone as he followed me to my house.

He looked up as someone walked beside him.

"Alright, lad?" He smirked, shoulder bumping Josh and putting his phone away as I awkwardly walked beside.

"Where you off to?" Josh asked, peering down to me before back up to George.

"That shit homework assignment for History.." He grumbled back, running his hand through his brown hair.

"Oh, so you not coming to the.. Place.. tonight then?"

"Nah, save me some though, will ya? And tell Ben that I haven't finished with him." George replied as I stopped at the end of my path, walking up to the door.

I didn't even bother waiting, I had no idea what they were talking about and I don't think I wanna know.

"Wait up!" George yelled, jogging down the path as I unlocked the door and went in. He followed me, sighing before slamming the door shut, earning a glare from me.

"What?" He asked, unfazed and walked upstairs.

I grumbled and walked up behind him, hearing a yell made me walk faster.

"Mum?!" I ran into her room as George waited on the landing. She was holding her waist, gagging for breath at the end of her bed.

"MUM!" I jogged over and held her back, bending down.

"T-Tablet.." She croaked. I nodded and pushed past George, running downstairs.

This was a regular thing, she'd have these attacks were she lacked breath. I always had a cup and the tablets on a table at the bottom of the stairs so it was easier to get them.

I grabbed them before running back in, handing them to my mum. She swallowed before finishing off the water thankfully breathing better again.

"Better, mum?" I smiled, setting her back to bed. She nodded at me, coughing slightly.

"Thanks Jen.." She sighed, shaking her head to shame herself.

"No problem Mum, now get some rest. My fri- someone from school is here to do some homework."

She nodded and I walked back out the room, closing the door and leaning my back against it, closing my eyes.

"Everything OK?" George asked, he didn't sound concerned one bit.

"Fine." I snapped, opening my eyes. He stepped back a bit, rolling his eyes. "Can we just get this finished so I can leave?"

I gulped, looking down. This is why I didn't normally talk to people, whenever they said something that could upset me, I took it to heart.

"Sure" I said, walking past him and into my room. He closed the door and went to sit on my desk chair while I sat on the bed.

"So.. What's the task again?" He sighed, picking up my spare pen from his pocket.

"Roman history. Know anything?" I said, if he's short and snappy with me, I shouldn't be shy to return it.

"Do I fuck." He chuckled slightly, shaking his head.

I picked up a bit of a smile before hiding my face down to my bag.

"I'll teach you"

His head snapped up, shaking it "You won't though, I never listen and that's the way it is."
