*Jenna's P.O.V*
I opened my eyes slowly, the pain in my side was enough to make me shut them tight again.
What had happened? Last thing I remember was the Zoo.. Brad and Ben.. The choice George had to make between myself and his family.. But how had I ended up here?!
A small sound of light footsteps could be heard entering my room, making my eyes cautiously open again. A small, petite nurse with fair blonde hair and thick rimmed glasses made her way over to my bed, a smile on her face.
"Hello, sleepyhead.. You took quite a hit," She sighed, writing something on her clipboard. Quite a hit?! Understatement of the century.
"H-How long have I been here?" I stuttered, the croakiness of my own voice surprising me.
"3 days," She replied, handing me some water, "But you'll be perfectly fine."
I nodded slightly, sipping the water before letting out a sigh and look down at the wires snaking in and out my skin.
"There's been a boy here all the time you've been in here, he refused to leave." She smiled, tilting her head as she checked my monitor.
George.
"Where is he?! Could I see him??" I spoke quickly, sitting up.
She nudged me back down gently and chuckled, "Of course you can, he went to get a drink.. He'll be gutted he missed your wake up but I'll let him in as soon as he comes back.. You take it easy"
I nodded and sighed, feeling my back hit the bed again, watching her leave. I stared up at the ceiling, shaking my head slightly.
George never left.
Never once did he go home or leave this hospital by the sounds of it.. And all because of me.
I let a smile creep onto my face just by thinking about it, he'd never left.
Just as I was about to close my heavy eyelids again, the door burst open, causing me to jump.
George looked in at me, his eyes just as wide as his grin was as he ran over to my bedside and cuddled me tighter than ever.
I smiled and wrapped my arms round him, pulling him down to sit on the edge of the bed, my huge grin mirroring his.
"Missed me?" I teased.
He shook his head, keeping his eyes on me and his mouth open, "You have no fucking idea, baby."
I laughed and watched him, admiring the same outfit he wore to the zoo still on his body. "You stayed here all this time?"
He nodded, raising his eyebrow as if it were an obvious answer. "Course I did! I wasn't gonna leave you here on your own, silly. I'm so annoyed I missed you waking up, though." He grumbled.
"Yeah, the nurse said you would be.." I smiled, rubbing his arm, "Thank you, George."
He looked at my hand before up at me, confusion plastered on his worn out face, "For what?"
"For everything.." I smiled, tilting my head to one side.
He frowned and shook his head quickly, pity now in place of the confusion. "If it wasn't for me, this wouldn't of happened."
I frowned, "Don't be silly... It wasn't your fault they turned up."
"But its my fault he shot you, its my fault you're caught up in this. You don't deserve to be." He sighed, his voice echoing tiredness.
I sighed and bit my lip, knowing there was some truth behind it. But its not all his fault like he says it is.
"George you need some rest.." I frowned, rubbing his arm again.
He pointed over to the camp bed near the wall, just a meter or two away from mine. He'd really stayed here with me.
"Aww.." Was all I could think to say as he leaned forward and kissed me softly before I watched him get up and go to his little bed.
"You sure you'll be okay?" He asked, sitting down on the bed and keeping his eyes on me.
"I'll be fine, doof.. Now get some rest," I smiled, nodding.
He copied my actions and lay down, keeping his body and face facing me, his eyes fighting to stay open. He looked like he hasn't slept properly in days.. Which he probably hadn't..
"I love you." He mumbled before his sleepyness got the better of him and he fell asleep.
I widened my eyes slightly and grinned, whispering "I love you too.."
He loves me.
From the second we got assigned that History project together, I thought it would be a situation of me do all the work at my house and give it to him that lesson to put his name on.
But George really surprised me, he's not at all what I thought he'd be, not at all what people make him out like. He's sweet, kind, funny.. Not to mention drop dead gorgeous.
But people look past that and just focus on the reputation he's brought up. The violence, the anger, the 'bad boy'. Yes, he isn't an Angel. But he isn't the devil people think he is.
One thing that can be both a pro and con is his protectiveness. I think its so cute, but sometimes he eyes up any boy that even looks my way. To be honest, that's more of a pro than con for me.
He makes me feel safe.
I sighed heavily and rest my head back, closing my eyes for just a second before hearing the door burst open, causing my eyes to do the same.
My first thoughts was to look at George, who was still fast asleep. And with a sigh of relief, I looked at my Mum scurry in and pull me into her arms.
"Mum, I'm fine!" I laughed, shaking my head whilst pulling back a little.
She cupped my cheek and I watched as her eyes scan my face before she burst out laughing, letting a few stray tears fall. "I know, Baby, I know you are!!"
I widened my eyes a little and put my finger to my lips before pointing over at George then looking back at her.
She automatically shushed, her eyes moving from him to me with a massive grin on his face. "You've struck gold with that one, Jen"
I rolled my eyes, feeling my cheeks burn rosey red. "I know, I know.. Apparently he's never left since it happened"
"He hasn't, hasn't slept much either." She nodded, perching down on the seat beside my bed.
I looked at her with a risen eyebrow, "How do you know?"
"Cause I've been visiting silly, I came after my night shift at around 4 in the morning.. He was sat right in this chair, talking to you." She smiled, patting the chair she was sat on.
Wow.
Just wow.
I couldn't think of what to say so Mum got there first, "He's a sweet boy, I'm glad you've found him. He thinks the world of you, Jen. I told you somebody would realise your beauty."
I just laughed, it being my turn to let some tears fall. Happy tears.
I had George and George had me and that's the way it was going to stay. And not Ben, Brad, Matt, Emily or anyone else could change that.
