*GEORGE'S P.O.V*
I just stared at them. Their serious faces not making sense to me. "You are joking, right?!"
I watched as my Mum's head shook slowly before shaking mine in disbelief and standing up, the chair skidding against the wooden floor.
"Why?! Have you even thought this through, what about Harriet?! All her friends, school work.. Not to mention MY life!!" I yelled.
"George, we've already spoken to Harriet, she's fine with it." Dad sighed, looking at me.
"Bullshit!!" I hissed, stepping back.
"Watch that mouth, boy!" Dad grumbled before softening up a bit, "It won't be so bad"
My blood boiled. Won't be so bad?! Absolute horse crap. If they think I'm leaving Jenna and the boys behind then they've got another thing coming.
"I'm not leaving." I stated, looking straight faced at them both.
"I knew he'd do this.." Mum whispered into Dad's ear, just loud enough for me to hear.
"Then why get another fucking job then?! I don't care, you lot can go but I'm staying right here."
And with that I stormed out, grabbing my jacket off the chair as I went past, slamming the front door behind me as loud as I could to show my annoyance.
How could they even think for a second I'd go to Scotland?! School, that's one thing, even though I didn't really give a toss about it; it's still a valid excuse.
Pulling out a cigarette and lighting it up, I paced over to the Warehouse, shaking the handle before walking in.
"George, we have a problem," Josh said, none of them welcoming me.
"Yeah, I know." I growled, sitting down in a huff.
"You've heard?" JJ raised his eyebrow, looking at Jaymi then to me.
"Wait, what are you lot talking about?" I sighed, sitting up and resting my elbow and forearms on my lap.
"We've had a call from Ben." Jaymi said, handing me the phone.
I rolled my eyes, putting it down, "Quite frankly, I can't be bothered with his pathetic games."
"I think you better listen to it.." Josh nodded.
I sighed, spinning the phone between between my fingers before dropping it on my lap, pressing start.
I could only hear muffled mumbles and figiting on the line, making my eyebrow raise at the boys.
"Wait for it," JJ sighed.
Just as I was about to hang up, a soft, trembling voice said my name.
My heart stopped. Even only for a second, but I swear it stopped.
"George?" She whispered, even though I couldn't see her face, I knew she was crying.
"Jenna!" I cried, choking at the phone..
After some more muffling, followed by a door slamming shut, Ben's prickly voice rung from the recording.
"Hear that, Shelley? We got your bird.. I told you that we'd do anything to get you back," He tutted, "Shouldn't of let her walk home alone, should we?"
I bit my lip hard, my fists clenching. How fucking dare he? He's messed with the wrong person, with the damn wrong bribe.
"Wanna come get her? Hm?" He rasped before I heard the gut wrenching scream errupting from Jenna's throat in the background.
"Meet me at the park tonight. Come alone. Or else.."
And with that, the recording stopped. But, I didn't move. I couldn't.
"George.." Jaymi said, taking his phone back and sitting beside me.
I kept my eyes glued to the floor, my fuming breaths was the only thing audible in the room.
"Are you gonna go?" JJ tried, my eyes lifting up.
"That's a stupid question. Course I'm gonna go." I snapped, standing up and running my sweaty fingers through my hair.
"Well you aren't going on your own, fuck what he said.." Josh said, standing up too.
"Are you a fucking idiot?! You heard what he said.. I'm not risking Jenna's life more than it is already!" I yelled.
"He's right," Jaymi nodded, "George has to go and get her alone. He's capable of taking care of himself. It's Jenna you gotta think about."
Josh rolled his eyes, sighing and sitting back down in defeat. "You better go then"
I nodded and went over to the door, pulling the tough handle up.
"George?" JJ said as the three of them walked over. "Be careful"
I laughed and rolled my eyes, "Stop being pussies.. I'll see you later"
Slamming the door shut behind me, I closed my eyes and took a long deep breath.
It'll be alright, George. The minute you get there, she'll be given back. She'll be fine.
She'll be fine.
