I opened my eyes slowly and saw the bars across the dark room. I lifted my head and saw Ciana laying next to me. She started to rouse as I shook her shoulders wearily. She looked at me and tried to sit up, but she groaned and fell back down. I tried to use the wolf-link because my jaw hurt too much to move, but she didn't seem to receive it. We both sat up carefully next to eachother, whining from the pain.
I licked my dry lips, tasting blood. My senses finally became fully aware as I smelled our blood, and Ciana's fear scent. I felt something running down my face. I lifted my shaky hand and touched the tickling spot. I took my hand away and strained to see in the dark. Blood.
"What's going on?" I barely managed to gasp out.
Ciana opened her mouth to say something, but closed it quickly and shook her head.
We were examining each other's face-wounds when we heard a loud CLINK.
In came the devil himself.
"Well... What am I going to do with you mutts?." Jacob spat hastily while closing the cell door.
"W-wh- how?" Ciana choked out, her eyes glowing glossy as the tears formed.
"Oh darling," Jacob said, smirking. "I have to rule the pack. And I kidnapped the Luna so I could lure the Alpha into my paws. I want him dead."
"I hate you." Ciana whispered, and not the 'just joking' kind of hate. This was real hatred.
I tried to stand up but Jacob kicked me. I fell to the ground as he repeatedly kicked my ribs. Over, and over, and over.
He eventually stopped, then took out his phone. He put it on record and laid it against the wall facing me. He then walked over to me quickly and grabbed my hair, yanking me up.
He dragged me to the camera and said to his phone, "You want your Luna back? You'll have to come get her. And your female beta too. You'll have to scent her out to find her." He stopped talking and dropped my hair.
He then proceeded to kick my chest, my stomach, my legs, and my back. I screamed and he pulled my hair.
"Shut up, fleabag." He yelled in my ear.

Ciana's POV
I couldn't stand the pain. My world was spinning and bleary, I couldn't sit up straight. I closed my eyes and I listened to the painful screams of my best friend, and it was killing me that I couldn't help her.
My mate betrayed me. I grew weak quickly and fell to the ground, growing unconscious.

I woke up again and I was standing, leaning against the wall. My hands were chained together to the wall. I looked slowly to my left and saw Lindsay in the same position. She had dried tears on her face, hidden by the dried blood plastered on her face.
Jacob looked up from his phone at me, "Well look who's awake."
He got up and walked to me, standing in front of me. "If you want to live, you need to be," He ran his index finger from the bottom of my throat to my chin. "evil. You have to help me kill Adam, so I can be Alpha."
"Never." I gasped.
"You will join me." He said, close to grabbing my throat.
Then I thought of something. "Okay, I will."
Lindsay looked at me in shock. Thank god we learned sign language in our free time. I signed to her behind my back, as Jacob was walking away, "I have a plan. I'll pretend to join him, and get us out of here. You can call Adam as soon as we get our wolf link back. I'll protect you the best I can."
She nodded slowly and Jacob walked back to me with a key. He unlocked the chains and I took them off carefully. As soon as he turned around, I unlocked Lindsay quietly, and whispered, "Shift."
We both shifted into our wolves. My grey wolf, her white one. We both shrunk to the ground and started crawling silently to Jacob's ignorant figure. As soon as we were a couple feet away, I nodded and we pounced. He yelled and started flailing. I bit his leg and started shaking my head frantically. Lindsay had his arm in her mouth, shaking it. The stench of blood overpowered my nose, and then he started to shift. I thought quickly, and I ran to the table. I grabbed the syringe from the table and ran back to Jacob. I turned my head sideways and shoved the needle of the syringe into his arm. He yelled louder and his shifting stopped, and he fell unconscious.
I panted heavily and Lindsay nodded. I leaned over Jacobs head, and a tear ran down my furry cheek onto his shirt. I said my kind words, along with a sincere apology.
Lindsay backed away to let me finish.
I bent down and closed my jaw over Jacob's neck. His face turned pale and his lips a light shade of purple. My teeth squeezed his neck, crushing his windpipes. After a few seconds, his breathing ceased, and I could no longer hear his pulse. I stepped back, blood dripping from my muzzle. I let out a long, sorrowful howl. Lindsay joined in, as we mourned the death of my former mate.
