The Girl Who Lead the Pack

Chapter 22- Uh oh...

I mixed my soup slowly with my spoon. Adam had gone out of town after the party for a couple days for Alpha business. He also took Sean, the new Beta. I was feeling depressed since my mate is gone, it's only natural. I felt the air change as someone sat on the stool next to me.
"Hey." I heard Chris's cold voice and I stayed staring at my soup.
"What do you want?" I asked quietly but firmly.
"Nothing."
"Then get out of here. I don't want you around me right now." I stared at him with piercing eyes, changing yellow.
"Geez, can't a wolf sit next to his Luna?" He asked, his eyes darkening.
"Just-" I started, but he cut me off.
"You know you look really good in Adam's shirt." He said, slowly leaning towards me. I was wearing Adams shirt since his scent was comforting.
"Shut up." I growled, placing my hand on his chest.
He grabbed my hand. "You would look even better in mine." He smirked.
"Get away from me." I snarled.
He grasped my other wrist, "Why don't you leave that mutt alpha and run away with me?" He put his mouth by my neck.
"I said, get away from me!" I howled.
My yell didn't startle him, and he just moved closer. He had my wrists in one of his hands, and was reaching for my waist with the other.
I heard footsteps and a distinct Irish voice came in, "What the hell is going on in here?"
"Get him off of me!" I growled.
Jack ran to Chris and grabbed his shirt by the collar. "Get the hell off of our Luna!" He yelled.
Chris just tightened his grip on my wrist making me yelp.
Jack's eyes turned yellow and I saw the fangs poking from behind his lip.
"Get, off!" He snarled.
Jack bit down on Chris's arm and they both jumped back. I glanced at my wrists. They were bruised already. I slowly looked up with a growl. Chris widened his eyes and tried to back up, only to back into Jack.
I lunged forward and shoved him to the ground. I slapped him twice on the cheek, making him yelp. "How old are you again?" I asked, growling.
"16." He barely gasped out.
"You're weak for a 16 year old." I snarled.
Jack growled at Chris as I got off. I grabbed my bowl of soup that I wasn't interested in, and chucked it at Chris. I ran into the alpha room and sat on the bed. I soon got up and growled, pacing the room.
"I swear I will rip my hair out soon enough." I grumbled to myself.
I turned sharply as there was a knock on the door. "What?" I hissed.
The door opened. "Sorry." I heard a whisper and then Ciana appeared.
"Oh, sorry I growled at you. I thought you were Chris." I put my hand on my forehead.
"It's ok." She put her hand on my shoulder and led me to the bed. On the way there, I looked in the mirror and my eyes were yellow. I think Ciana noticed because she flinched as I looked at her.
"Wanna watch a movie?" I asked.
"Sure."
"Okay, so what do you want to watch?" I asked, opening the drawer beside me.
"How about-" she was interrupted because my phone beeped. I picked it up and looked, it was from Adam.
I looked at Ciana. "I guess my phone is working now." I chuckled.
I read the text: I left a present on the front porch for you. Come look.
I replied quickly and ran out the door, Ciana behind me.
She started to pace back and forth, "I'll be right back. Nature calls."
"K" I said.
I looked around and saw nothing. "Well what's this all about?" I started to walk towards the door as something covered my mouth. I turned around and saw who I thought I would: Chris. I tried to scream but his mouth muffled them.
I turned around my eyes yellow, and saw Chris. Again. What is it with him?
I struggled to get free, trying to bite his hand. Nothing I did phased him.
"We just can't keep our eyes off him, can we?" A voice snarled.
Chris turned so he could find the source of the sound. I saw Ciana running towards me. She jumped and shifted in mid air. She landed on all fours, growling. Her eyes changed colors quickly. Chris backed up, he grip still strong.
Ciana lunged forward and bit Chris's leg, making him yell. He took his hand off my mouth, and I bit it. He let go, stumbling back. I snarled and shifted next to Ciana. My hackles stood on end as I growled endlessly, stalking towards him slowly. He scooted back, and stopped as he hit a rock behind him. His eyes widened farther as we neared him. I put my ears forward as he snapped his fingers.
"What?" I muttered.
Chris just smirked and stood up. As soon as me and Ciana weren't in stalking position, a pack of wolves jumped out from behind the wolf. Ciana and I fell backwards in shock as the other wolves stalked towards us. Where are Jack, and the rest of the pack members?! I thought.
"So you thought you could win?" Chris asked, shifting. He shook his mane and snarled fiercely.
I recognized the female wolf who attacked me among the other wolves. I started to speak, but was interrupted by her. "An apology won't give my ear back." She snarled.
"I wasn't going to apologize." I said. I stepped forward and howled, undoubtably alerting the other wolves.
Soon after, the rest of the pack came out, followed by Adam.
"You're home!" I barked.
He ran up to me and nuzzled briefly.
"I thought you weren't coming-" I was interrupted by a sharp pain in my neck, and the world seemingly falling around me.

Ciana's POV
I watched in horror as a wolf from the other pack attacked my best friend, making her stumble to the ground.
I snarled like I haven't before, and jumped onto the wolf's back. I bit down on her neck, causing her to cower and run.
Wow. I thought.
I heard the other wolves growl and I turned to Lindsay. I saw the blood coming from her neck.
"No no no this can't be happening!" I howled.
My gaze turned to Adam, who was speechless.
I put my ear by her muzzle. I didn't hear her breath. This can't be happening. My best friend can't be dead!

What just happened?! I feel bad about doing this, but the next chapter is the last, and you will see what happens! ;)
