Author Says: Hello! Thank you for checking out my book. All the events, characters, and settings are from my dream and imagination. Please give my only book a read, be casual, and comment anything you feel and desire. I'm sorry if you won't like it, but maybe you could help me improve. So I hope it’s you who would continue reading until the end. You may also want to check the Author's notes & Update logs, thanks.

Please tell me if it still gives too much details or confuses you... I've been editing this first part a million times. The prologue is in third person pov, since I heard that if there's another main character in the first chapter, the prologue should be third person. I don't know. I'm no writer but please, yeah.

PROLOGUE: Enchanted Poem

District Twelve covered the area of partial coniferous forest and rocky hills of Cyprus County. There was a small rural village found in this district. It was very close to nature— a green meadow, flowing freshwaters, and perfect land for farming. A simple and hopeful place with nice people treating everyone as a family.

Friz Eiker, at eighteen, found the village with great potential for development. Reinforced buildings and houses, machineries for farming, enhanced baking and tailoring businesses that the village people used to have for a living, improved blacksmith’s stable and more importantly, a good school system for the children’s education— that was his dream and own will to fulfill. He was once a down-to-earth rich kid in the city filled with choices but he never chose to go back.

There was one option that provoked a big change in his life. A choice that he could have had avoided— his belief in the mystery behind the West Forest— a forest bursting with life, where sunlight was filtering through the trees and creatures were harmonizing their melodic voices. He pursued his happiness and found the enchanted maiden, who rarely made appearance to people taking expeditions in her so-called territory.

Crystal Osiris was a mysterious girl living in the West Forest. She was beautiful with long, blonde wavy hair and blue charming eyes, wearing her favorite pure white dress. She was able to speak with the animals and the fact that she treated a beaver as her mother, and an elk as his father. In addition, she was able to control the acts of nature. Her enchanted abilities made Friz fell in love with her and nobody in the village believed she was real except his best friend, Levi Dammen, who was a witness to Crystal’s magical beauty.

Spring, May – Year 1978

It was springtime morning, when patches of white flowers were blooming outside the cabin and the freshwater river nearby was inviting school of salmons for breeding. Crystal’s cabin was made of solid logs of oak trees as foundation and hard bamboo sticks as walls, ceiling and roof. Inside the cabin, Friz and Crystal was madly in love, writing a complicated poem about their promise for each other.

Crystal was side sitting on the floor, facing her bed made out of bamboo— where she placed a bond paper, a pen, and a hard card board— while Friz was behind her, embracing and sitting with his thighs clamping beside her.

“Our love was dark like a shadow behind light… Go on, start with that line,” Friz said smiling interestingly.

“Do you really think it was dark?” she said, doubting to write it in the paper.

“Shh… Hidden in the forest, forbidden, out of sight,” he whispered, absorbing her sweet scent.

“Okay, fine. Second stanza will be mine,” she said while writing the lines that Friz told her.
