CHAPTER 12: Wolf’s Will
Autumn, October - Year 1995
At the busiest place— where people were rushing through the gates of each terminal, passengers from the flight were on their way to loading bay and some were being surprised by their loved ones, some people were checking their watches as they fall in line to the ticket counter and security scanner, and some were waiting to retrieve for their luggage at the baggage claim area— two important persons of Elven City have arrived, Snow and Doctor Wolf.
I was here at the airport with my wife and this was the very day that she would fly to Wales for her witchcraft training. I blamed myself because I couldn’t do anything to stop her. I wished that the plane would crash just for her not to get there. But I loved her and I was so stupid, I even know why.
I was sitting at the terminal beside her. I was reading a newspaper while she was fixing herself with her make-up kit. In the meantime, the gate agent called the passengers for flight to Wales at terminal gate 17. That was her queue. She excitedly, with poise, stood up and carried her fancy purse on her right arm.
“Honey, are you sure you’re going to do this?” I asked that stopped her from walking. I folded the newspaper then left it on the seat and stood in front of her, touching her cheek, trying to make her feel that she would miss me.
“Yes, honey. I love it and I can be good at it. Not only good, but I will be the most powerful woman, ever,” she whispered me, moved back a little, and watched her grinning.
She began walking leaving me behind. “Honey, you don’t need this thing.” I held her right arm. I tried to obstruct her from walking, but she slapped me.
“B-bye Honey,” she acted as if she was wailing. She kissed me on my cheek, though. “I’ll call you when I get there,” she said with a wink and smirked. I let her go.
These people around us were probably thinking an issue between us. Being one of the most famous people, I bet a Media would already put this on television.
After a few minutes of saving myself from Media who witnessed the scene, I finally got back to my hospital, where no media allowed. I had to work again, treated three patients today, then came my vacant hour.
I was thinking if I should contact my lawyer and tell him that Friz was alive. Since Snow has left abroad, I could take this chance to work on it, fast. It would take Snow four years for her to get back here. Within those years, I planned to use my control and help Friz gain his will.
I dialed a number and called my lawyer…
“Good afternoon, Dr. Wolf! Oh hey, I just saw on TV that Snow has left you. What was it all about? Are you getting a divorce?” my lawyer Henry asked me with such ridiculous question, I thought.
“Nah, Henry. Do you still believe in Media? You know neither of us could do that,” I answered.
“Well, then… is there a case or problem you need to tell me?”
I paused for a second, but then I asked him if he still remember Friz Eiker.
“Uhuh, yes yes, but what about him? He was legally given a death certificate, a very long time ago,” he said.
