 CHAPTER 10: Love Letter

Wolf mansion was one of the largest properties stood in the Summerhill Village of Elven City. It was fully secured with cameras on every side and columns of 12 feet bricked wall serving the whole yard as a barrier. There were three gates having security posts with armed men on-guard. The most prestigious architects designed a very inviting garden in the front yard, beautiful fountains, tall fir trees, attractive hedges and a creative swimming pool at the back. The mansion was a three-storey, white-colored manor, and patches of modern glass walls on the other side.

It was four in the morning and a peach-colored blanket modestly covered Snow, sleeping on a king sized luxurious bed. Her husband, Dr. Rufus Wolf just came out from their private bathroom wearing only a towel, getting ready for another day’s work.

He remembered the letter that Snow was writing last night. He noticed it was still on her desk sealed in a postal stamped envelope, with an address to District Twelve, Cyprus County.

It was his chance to take it, as he was aware that the letter was for Friz. But being curious, he tore the edge of the envelope and opened the letter. He seriously skimmed it and then suddenly his phone rang and made Snow to wake up. He answered the call as it was from a nurse Secretary in his hospital, informed him the cancelation of the meeting of doctors this day. While Snow was still taking her puffy time in bed, he got a chance to hide the letter in between the front leaf cover of a book.

After the call, he greeted Snow to divert her attention from the letter. She was excited but her mood changed every time Rufus approached him sweetly.

She walked to her desk, noticed that the letter was missing. “Honey! Where is the damn love letter?” She asked him, brushing her hair with a comb, glaring at him. He was still on his towel and moved closer to her.

“What letter?” he quietly said, slowly getting closer, sniffing her hair.

“Hmp! I’ll kill you for this!” she raved and elbowed him to push him away.

“Honey, come on… you just need some cuddle.” He insisted to embrace her while his hands grasping her arms.

She put back the brush on her vanity set, stood up from the seat and had a quick trip in their bathroom. Rufus hindered her right after she walked out. He caressed her blonde hair and whispered, “I didn’t read it, it’s safe in my hands and I won’t give it to you until you tell me what your plan is?”

“No! You would interfere in my operations!” she roared and put a lot of girly effort to push her undressed husband from her way.  “Hmp! Get off me!” she exclaimed. “Ugh, disgusting! Shoo! I’m going to rewrite the letter and you can’t stop me.”

Dr. Rufus failed his attempt to conquer her, figured he wasn’t good at fake romance.  He watched her write it all over again, but not for long, he took the letter from the book. Read on it again and exhaled. He placed the letter on the side of the desk where Snow was writing.

“Yay! Thank you so much!” she screeched sweetly. “You silly, wasting my time!” she whined but in such joy she smooched and embraced him fashionably while Rufus was rolling his eyes.

He drew back from her hug and said straight to her eye, “I know what’s in it, so maybe it’s fine if you send it. I doubt your sincerity with that message, though.”

She yielded him a quick wink and turned back to fix her purse and the letter. “You are wrong, honey. I have always missed him! But of course, the lawyer mustn't know anything about his existence.”

She then walked inside her closet room to tidy up. Dr. Wolf grabbed his undershirt and suit up with his formalwear decent enough for this day job. He stopped talking to her, knowing that his privilege wasn’t powerful enough to control her doings.
